Oh just get the 30-45 minute bus direct to the Courtyard Sha Tin if you're that bothered about it all. It's a steal on points and can often be had for ~HK$1000. It's got a lounge with evening booze for Platinums. Go to the local Korean bar-be-cue for dinner for ~HK$200 a head with free-flow meat and beer. In the morning get a taxi direct to the airport and you'll be there in 30 minutes. Enjoy your evening. Chill. Life's supposed to be fun.

Someone on TripAdvisor said that the shuttle take about 30 minutes to get to the hotel after they moved the pick up point earlier this year. It seems a long ride to get to this property as a transit hotel and a long walk to the pick up point. Does it really take 30 minutes?

Due to the renovation of the Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 2, we are relocating our Airport shuttle bus pick-up point from Bay 29/30 Terminal 2 to Car Park 1 Bay 11/12 Terminal 1 effective from 19 February 2019. The last bus departs from airport at 12:45am, Should you need any assistance, please contact our Airport Representative at B05 Marriott Counter in Terminal 1. Alternatively, Airport Express can be taken from Airport Station to AsiaWorld-Expo Station (one stop).
ETA: I did find a map that shows where Car Park 1 is located: HKIA Transportation Map.
Even before this change, when you add wait time, there's not a huge time advantage to staying at this property vs. Airport Express into Hong Kong.

I've never found it particularly convenient to get to this property... now with change in pick up spot it probably makes more sense to hope on airport express and stay somewhere in Kowloon. Not that much longer to get there and far more fun. Regal is a dump but easier to get to if you really need a quick transit

So disappointed right now. Moved my last night a couple of months ago from JW HK to Marriott Skycity as we had an early flight at 9.30 AM. Thought that would get us some added sleep hours. Now that flight is moved to 10.30 AM and I'm reading that from the hotel entrance with the Shuttle bus it takes 30 minutes to get to Terminal 1 from the hotel entrance? Anyone can confirm this? Should have kept my last night at the JW.
Move to W HK or stay is the question... stay is with the old 25k points before it went to 35k.

Awesome, great advice. Will look into that. Reading it's a small 6 HKD fee from AWE to Airport MTR > Tickets and Fares

I have just stayed at this property. I went to the hotel desk at B05 and the lady escorted me to the bus so I didn’t have to think about how to get there. They are now using a big bus and it goes every 30 mins.
I still love this hotel but the bus thing is a bit of a trek if you have lots of luggage.

I'm confused. I stayed on Feb 25, and went to B05, as usual, and within 7-8 minutes was escorted to the private minivan that has always been provided as a perk for elite status guests. My return the following morning was via the large bus with plenty of space in the under carriage stowage, similar to an intercity Greyhound. I've always gotten a seat, no matter how many flight crews there were. The ride in either direction, has never, ever taken anywhere close to 30 minutes, 10 at the most, and I stay there regularly, as I usually have either a late afternoon arrival or an early morning departure. What am I missing? Unless you arrive in the wee hours, when service is not available, I cannot see how getting there is inconvenient.

We also just stayed at this property about a week ago. We got free private transfers — didn’t book in advance and didn’t request it. We fully expected the bus, but upon arriving at HKG airport, we went to the Marriott desk and the gentleman there checked for our names and then escorted us to a VIP waiting area and a black car pulled up just for us. Amazing. We are Titanium members if that matters. When we checked out they also arranged the same car for us. We were floored.

I don't think the moving of where you pick up the bus had made any difference, Elites still get private car transfer if available (it has always been available every time I have stayed), the shuttle bus goes as frequently as it always did, the new location is probably no further than the old location just in a different direction. The construction is as bad as ever but my journey from the airport to the hotel took under 5 minutes tonight.
