The feedback I got from the hotel is that the car service to the hotel is not guaranteed, which is why it is not advertised, but if you go to the service desk in arrivals if the car is not available then they will escort you to the bus stop.

I just stayed here for a 2 nights a few days ago. A car was available within 5 minutes of checking in at the desk. An executive lounge attendant and porter were waiting for me when I got out of the car at the hotel and I was escorted to my EL room where I checked in. This was my 3rd or 4th stay at this property and I'll be back here at the end of the month for another 2 nights.
The lounge was excellent as usual with a large breakfast and evening offering. Not as elaborate as the Hong Kong JW or Renaissance, but still quite nice for at $25-200 less per night. For stays longer than 2 nights I stay in the city. In the case of this 2-night layover and the one at the end of May I arrive in the evening and depart mid to late morning so running into the city on the Airport Express from Asiaworld Expo on my full day is actually better (same day return is same price as oneway) than arriving at a downtown hotel around midnight and having to leave on the morning after the second night at between 6-8 AM.

Up until recently, I would have agreed with you. However, after having experienced a number of mainland China Executive Lounges spanning both the Marriott and Hilton brands, I would have to drop the SkyCity down a notch. Buffet breakfast in the lobby level SkyCity Bistro, however, is still stellar, and IMHO, much better than what is available in the EL. Having said that, saving serious $$ for a short layover in HKG, makes the SkyCity's QPR that much more attractive, irrespective of the EL's offerings.

Downstairs can get a bit hectic at times so the lounge is a bit better in that regard. There is still plenty to be had in the lounge in my opinion.

I'm admittedly unfamiliar with MRs Asian properties, but is a room that size considered an "upgrade" in Asia?
ETA: OK, I see it's two rooms and not just one long room.

Hmmm. Nice review. But as far as your issue with the housekeeper, we might need more context. If I'm reading correctly, you heard a housekeeper say something to another employee of the hotel about you and you took offense? Just trying to understand.

I would say that is a pretty on point review of the hotel and consistent with my stays. The exception being the situation with the housekeeper which I think you should just let it go. If that is the worst thing that happens to you while traveling then you are pretty lucky. You admittedly had communication issues at first so perhaps there was some confusion by the housekeeper and they were more rude than they would normally be etc......who knows. Let it go. Thanks for the review and good luck on your your little web site thingy.

If I overheard a hotel staff member tell her colleague that she pointed out the alarm clock because she considered me old and that only "old people" used them, I be pretty upset. Hopefully the irony of that scenario is not lost on you.
