Is there anyway to subscribe for spgmoments? Or, it is just the case of checking the website from time to time?

Looks like there was a big fail on this Moments package :

The Country to Country VIP Experience package includes:

•Exclusive access for two (2) to sound check rehearsals before doors open to the public on 11 March
•Gourmet buffet lunch for two (2) on 11 March
•Two (2) SPG Luxury Suite tickets for Country to Country at The O2 on 11 March, at 4:00 p.m.*
•Complimentary food and beverages for two (2) while in the SPG Luxury Suite
•Official souvenir program and Country to Country merchandise
•One-night (1-night) stay for two in an Urban Room at Aloft London Excel, checking in 11 March and checking out 12 March 2016
•Breakfast for two (2) at Aloft London Excel on 12 March
I've just seen this on the Moments site : there were 4 separate auction lots, the bids closed 1 Mar, 2016 07:00 AM EST and each of the 4 is showing as "sold" for only 1,000 Starpoints.

I know a whole bunch of people who would have loved to have bid had they known about this. Instead the packages seem to not have attracted any bid activity at all and have all gone (if indeed they have actually been sold) for a derisory token amount.

What can SPG do to raise the profile of these types of Moments to make sure that as many SPG members as possible have the opportunity to benefit from such fantastic events, rather than having them just to go waste like this ?

The people who won would surely dispute the notion that it was a "waste"

True, the person who got lucky will view this as far from a waste. The more bidders for SPG moments, the higher the price they sell for thus less value for us.

I think there might have been a glitch on the SPG Moments website earlier in the week erroneously displaying some of the sold prices as 1,000 Starpoints. I specifically recall the below package you mention being at 3,000 Starpoints a day before ending- still an absolute steal though.

I suggest the glitch theory because I also saw 2 MLB packages displayed sold for 1,000 Starpoints each but when I looked back on the site the next day there was no trace of the closed auction. One package was a MLB package that included 4 seats to a game in Atlanta, dinner for 4 at some fancy restaurant inside the stadium, and a $250 gift card for the souvenir shop. The other closed buy it now auction was for 4 tickets to an MLB game and entry into the post game press conference. I find it hard to believe the Moments team would price at 1,000 Starpoints.

Have you guys seen this?

Sing the national anthem before the Chicago Cubs take on the New York Mets

Here's your chance to audition to sing "The Star Spangled Banner" at Wrigley Field to kick off a Cubs game. The top three bidders win the opportunity to submit an audition tape to the Cubs. The Cubs will pick one of the three to sing before the game on July 18. The other bidders will get their Starpoints back and a pair of tickets to the SPG Luxury Suite for a Cubs game of their choice.

How many are going to gamble their SPG point balance in hopes of getting it back by submitting a horrible audition tape to get a free pair of tickets to the luxury suite. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the Cubs actually picked the worst singer to perform and it back fired on said person's plan?

I saw that today! I thought it was a pretty cool moments auction. When I saw it, I actually practiced two times to see how my singing voice fares today. Obviously, the 2nd/3rd highest bidders are the clear winners (but they still need to submit an audition tape, so it's not without some work...)

IMHO, the winning bid is truly is a unique opportunity (if you are a good singer and wants to get some visibility and a cool experience). I'm sure they'll pick the best singers out of the 3 auction tapes - I just don't see any reasons why they won't. I just thought it was a cool 'moments" when I first saw it (there aren't many interesting ones to me right now...)

Does anyone know a way to find out what the different coachella auctions sold for in 2015? I'm trying to budget for the auctions this year.
TIA

I won one of the auctions today. It originally closed at 11 for one price and then stayed open eight extra minutes to close for a much higher price.

I have a screenshot of the closed auction with the first price before it was adjusted after the official close.

Why was the auction held open longer than scheduled/announced? I appreciate winning the auction at nearly any price but think it would be fair to close as scheduled and for the price shown. Is there anything in the rules that allows for this?

Happy to post the screenshot if anyone is interested.

I also joined the madness this morning - website timeouts were a little frustrating. My best guess is some of the auctions falsely closed originally, as they are typically extended anytime there is a bid within the last 5 minutes. A copy paste from the Terms and Conditions is below:

If a bid is placed during the last five minutes of any Moments program auction, the scheduled closing time thereof shall be automatically extended for an additional five minutes from the time of the last bid. The auction will close once all bidding activity has stopped for a period of five minutes.

It seemed there was A LOT of last minute bidding for these, so it was possibly just a technical issue they closed in the first place.

Thanks for the info. It was very frustrating that the site wasn't loading.

You're probably right about it being a Web glitch. Would be nice if they honored it since the first price is what the other package we went for.

This exact thing happened to me once for over 2 hours. I must have been bidding against a bidder with an automated pre set limit and we went up & up at 500 point increments until I hit 200,000 and won it. But it took forever...

The multiple packages thing was the most frustrating for me - I would notice that the Guest Pass + Dinner or Behind the scenes tour auctions were somehow going for less, but the timeouts made it impossible to really switch from the package you were originally going for.

So I ended up winning (I think) one of the standard guest pass packages for more points than the highest bids on the more inclusive packages.

Such a guessing game inhibited by a bit of overload on SPG's web servers.
