Hotel Website: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection
Official List of Cosmopolitan Bonvoy Elite Benefits: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/marriott-bonvoy-at-the-cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the only charges that qualify for Points are as follows:
- Room rate, room service food and beverage, in-room movies, phone calls and in-room minibar purchases
- Points cannot be earned on any other purchases at hotel outlets or for hotel services

The Cosmopolitan is a "resort," so basically the only elite benny is a possible upgrade. Elites are not exempt from the resort fee

Resort fee is $39+tax effective 01/01/2019. Also as of that date, parking (self & valet) is complimentary for hotel guests.

Cosmopolitan is exempt from providing free wifi to Plats per Marriott's T&Cs, however it is included with the mandatory $39 daily resort fee so there is still no extra charge to any guest for using it.

Platinums receive:

* use of Platinum check-in area (to the left of main desks)

* Platinum arrival gift is $10FB coupon or 1,000 points

* room upgrade (space available) - better luck on mid-week stays than weekend stays. sometimes a 'sandwich' (ie, bribe) to front desk does the trick.

* free tea/coffee 6am - noon in the plat lobby check-in area

* Wicked Spoon: Marriott Rewards Platinums (and PPs) get to use preferred line and get 15% discount when staying at the property. Just show your MR Plat or PP card.
You can book through Virtuoso as well as Amex FHR for complimentary breakfast buffet at Wicked spoon.

Resort fee:

* $39 (+ tax) per day for resort fee, which includes gym access, local + long distance calls, Wifi, pool access. The resort fee is not waived.

Receiving Bonvoy Points for a Stay:

Many have reported needing to follow up to have Marriott Bonvoy points manually posted post stay (they do not typically post automatically.) A tip is to email [email protected] shortly after a stay asking them to manually forward your folio to Marriott Bonvoy for processing.

Hat tip to billycwhatup for this:

* Identity points and MR points can not be earned on the same stay

Other tips

The Terrace Suites are the most common room type and are classified as studio and one bedroom, with options for King, 2 Queens with or without a fountain view. They are essentially the same size, however (10 sq ft difference), but the layouts differ.

The King Studio Suite has a standard bathroom with shower and tub, a living room area with large sitting area and an L shaped sofa and the bed is in a separate area, though not separated.

The King One BR Suite has the same kind of living room area, with the bedroom separated by sliding doors and the bathroom is larger, with a "soaking tub".

If you get a terrace suite of any kind with 2 Queens, the living area will be smaller.

And unless your room type is described as "fountain view", you aren't guaranteed it, though Platinum status will get you upgraded on check in if they have one available.

If you book any of these room types and want to aim higher, I would try a giving the receptionist a 50$ "sandwich", and ask if any wraparounds upgrades would be available. If they say yes, there is a good chance that it will be a wraparound facing south-east or south-west, which for me would be a no go. Taste in view is personal of course, but for me the fountain-Eiffel tower view are so much nicer than the south facing views. Also when you would have the choice between a low level wraparound or high level terrace suite, I would still take the high level terrace suite, because a number of floors on the east tower are blocked by the big Bellagio sign. (see youtube vids).

If you really want a high level wraparound then you probably would have to pay, which can sometimes be not that much. If I'm not mistaken I think they offered me a wraparound at 150$ per night more, but we originally booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view.

Last tip : If you would get the choice of wraparound I would definitely take a high floor east tower one, facing north-east. That would give you bellagio fountain + eiffel tower view, but also a good portion of the south strip.

Must be the same exact situation. Very strange.

The first time, I was nervous (like you.)

Now, I chalk it up to "It's the Cosmo!" --- And don't give it a second thought.

All my other conference bookings (through the same portal but at different properties) show up in the Marriott reservations list online. But the Cosmo is different.

Are all the Queen-Queen Terrace Studios in the Chelsea Tower? Do they all have balconies? Do they have any variance in view? What's the next level room up from this that has two queens?

If a room description has "terrace" in it then they have balconies. You either get one or a combination of the following views; fountain, fountain/strip, aria/city center, or mountain views. The only room above that where you would get 2 queens would maybe be the City 2 Bedroom Suite. All the other rooms and suites above only come with king. I believe the connector room that comes with the Terrace and Wraparound suites come with a king connector only.

For the 2Q Terrace Studio, I'm not quite sure. I recall there was mention on TA or here that the 2Q Studios were at Chelsea/West tower only. Uncertain if this was before or after the renovations. I'd assume they have at both towers? Can probably easily check just by giving them a call.

Would purchasing Cosmopolitan gift cards earn 6X AMEX/Bonvoy points?

https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/gift-cards

Seems like a good way to gain Identity status in advance of stay. What am I missing?

Is it at all possible to get free breakfast and Marriott elite night credits? I have never heard of Virtuoso but I assume booking through that prevents me from getting free night credits, correct? I'm titanium if it matters at all.

Nope. Cosmo is not really a participating property in most of the benefits, If you look at the T&Cs at https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/terms/default.mi , "Section xiii - Autograph Collection® Hotels - all locations except for:, then Section B - The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas participates in the Loyalty Program as follows:", those are the only benefits that Cosmo will provide to Marriott members.

Titaniums don't get any breakfast benefits at the Cosmopolitan.

Making a reservation through Virtuoso can get you breakfast benefits, but you'll need to compare the cost of booking through Virtuoso, directly with the Cosmopolitan, and directly with Marriott to determine the best deal.

Booking through Virtuoso should still qualify for Bonvoy points (and elite night credits) as it's a high end travel agent that typically books full price rooms.

You will receive Bonvoy credit if you book with Virtuoso. You can also book through a Luminous agent and receive the same benefits.

Just a tip. If you join the Cosmo Players club you will get an email with a 2-for-1 buffet at Wicked Spoon. If two people join, then 2 nights.

Has anyone used this sign up perk? If so, how long was the validity period. We will be going about 6 weeks from sign up time. I didn’t know about this perk before signing up.

Not directly related to your question but I did notice the gift cards have a $3 service after 12 months of non-use so don't stockpile them unless you know you can use them up in a year.

There's also a $2.50 fee to issue the cards (at least online, i'm not sure if this fee is charged if you purchase them in person or over the phone). It wouldn't make sense to buy the cards if you're not going to be going there though, but in theory if you spend $800 on cards (to qualify for Identity Sterling status) that's a free night stay (I haven't tested this).

Booked a Terrace Studio for 3 nights. Just got an email offering eStandy Upgrades. "Fountain View" at $30 extra a night. This one has a Note "This can be awarded as an upgrade in conjunction with your currently confirmed room or any of your qualifying eStandby selections."; Terrace Studio Fountain View at $31 extra a night; Terrace Angle (not described on the Cosmo website - has 2 bathrooms??) at $66 extra a night; Terrace One Bedroom Fountain View at $66 extra a night; Executive Suite at $68 extra a night; Terrace Suite at $125 extra a night.

Anyone have any experience with these? Note that I'm a Lifetime Titanium, so I was sort of planning on hopefully a suite upgrade, or at least some kind of decent upgrade, based on status. What kind of upgrades are Titaniums getting at the Cosmo? I'm staying Wed-Fri evenings in late Feb.

Not a Bonvoy'd member so no experience on the upgrades. Will just comment on the rooms.

FYI, if you booked or require 2 beds, I wouldn't consider the Terrace Angle room. Even though it's a slightly bigger room (I want to say maybe around 25sqft bigger) than Terrace Studio, AFAIK, it only comes in 1 king bed layouts. It does indeed have have 2 full baths. It's an open layout. Its similar to the 1bdrm Suite where it's all open and the bathroom is by bedroom. The pro of the terrace angle room is that its all fountain view. I believe there's only 1-2 on each floor and they are all in the west tower only.

Since the terrace angle and 1bdrm is the same upgrade price, it would depend on your needs. If solo, either will work but the 1bdrm is a bit nicer and comes with full living room, completely separate from the bedroom. If going with others, the terrace angle would be more feasible as it has 2 full baths, 1 by bedroom and 1 by the entrance. In the 1bdrm, the bath is in the bedroom and you would need to pass by the bed to get into it.

IMO, the executive suite is not worth it. It's just a much bigger room. but with no terrace, which is a moot point if you're going to be staying at Cosmo.

Terrace suite is the nicest room of them all obviously, hence the higher price. It has 2 full baths, one by entrance and one inside bedroom. If one doesn't mind sleeping on couch or cot, it can be a semi 2bedroom suite since the living room is separate from bedroom and both have access to their own bathroom, and to the terrace without disturbing one another.

Since you're going on weekdays, IMO, the $30 ($90 for stay) upgrade to fountain view is not really worth it. $20 sandwich at check-in will do the trick. It's a risk but for February and on weekdays, with no major conventions in town, chances are pretty high to score a fountain view with just greasing the FDA.

Even if you don't get an upgrade or decide not to do the upgrade, the terrace studio is an awesome room already, probably one of the best in Vegas.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Edit to add: I forgot, the 1bdrm and Terrace suites only have one bed also, but both rooms are large enough to accommodate a cot comfortably without sacrificing much space.

2nd stay at Cosmopolitan LV, and issues with points not posting

Apparently, your points will not automatically post to your account without contacting the Bonvoy folks, in both cases, I have had to send folios a minimum of two times.

Anyone else have issues with this brand or property?
