Ren Orl Sworld & Marriott WC Orl

I actually had the opposite experience posted in the top of the thread. I stayed at both of these hotels the first week of February 2011 and:

The Renaissance Orlando Seaworld - recognized me as gold and upon inquiring about breakfast (they do not have a lounge) was told that as a gold member continental breakfast at Tradewinds restaurant in the lobby was complimentary (normally $15) and for $4.50/pp I could upgrade to the full buffett breakfast (which is normally $20 and quite extensive - good deal, omlette & belgian waffle stations along with good spread of other stuff and cappucios and freshly squeezed OJ included. They were even great about taking stuff to go like cappucinos @ their suggestion)

Marriott World Center Orlando - also no lounge but upon inquiring about breakfast coupons they responded we don't do that and haven't done for some time. I pointed out that I was gold and my wife would be on her own with the kids the next morning as I was there for a conference and they offered up one complimentary breakfast buffett at Solaris in the hotel (normally $23 I think) for the following morning but no more. The clerk even had to speak with a supervisor to do that. Good spread and omlette station but cappucinos were extra although fresh OJ was included.)

My .02

Matt

The official policy is that the lounge (in terms of food service) is closed from Friday noon to about 4/5 PM on Sundays. The room key would allow access to the lounge during this 48+ hour period - so that the PC would be accessible.

However, this past weekend, the lounge offered full service during this past weekend. The lounge agent told me that on certain weekends, when requested (whatever that means) the lounge can remain open!
In the case of SF Marriott Marquis, sometimes large events at Moscone Center prompt the surge of convention-goers to keep the lounge open at that time.

I've been traveling & sick - what a combo - and to make it a trifecta (if I can mix my metaphors) - I forgot the mouse. You have no idea what a pain it is to cut/paste everything using the keyboard tracker/touchpad. So if by chance I actually make it home tonight (or tomorrow) - I will update the thread.

Thanks for everyone contributing!

Cheers.
