DP: load $500 to Serve at RA yesterday

Loaded a 200$ US Bank VGC at RA earlier today. Cashier had no idea what I was talking about but he was willing to try.

First time using Serve to load a VGC from Staples at Rite Aid. I've tried a couple locations but everytime I tried to load, it tells me Prepaid Balance Not Available and it locks up the register.

I checked the VGC transaction history, it tells me the $200 went through but the next it tells me "Purchase Sale Reversal." Has anyone encountered this problem?

I think I got the same response at a Rite Aid while trying to load a VGC today. But it didn't deduct anything from the card. I didn't push it. I will try Dollar General later this week.

First time poster! I just loaded $1k to Serve at Rite Aid with no problems. Two transactions, each a $500 OV. The above problems must not be systemic.

Is 8 the maximum number of VGC swipes during split payments at RA?

It is 26 or more payment methods. I did 26 times charged to the same card for the Isis Wallet $1 promotion.

For those of you doing multiple swipes - does Rite Aid auto-drain VGCs, or do you have to tell the cashier to split your payment 2, 3, 4, etc. ways?

Visa, MasterCard, and Amex gift cards auto drain as credit.

While my Serve was still active I had to tell them how much I wanted to load from each DEBIT GC.

If used as a debit card I am not confident that it would be auto-drain but I might be wrong per previous post.

I didn't say debit was auto drain. It is more common for auto drain to work when charged as credit.

I tried to load a couple of Visa gift cards that I'd gotten from Staples to my Serve card at Rite Aid today. The store manager wouldn't let me do it, said that they don't allow loading from gift cards. I'm friendly with her so I didn't argue although I did tell her that I was told that it worked, and just left and I guess I'll have to go to WM. Is there anything in writing which says that RA allows loading Serve from gift cards? Or is it just a matter of the register allowing it but store policy saying they don't?

I liked this person much better when she wasn't the manager.

You can only load points and coupons to your Plenti card.
