Evolve clearly does not have a sustainable business model, and their target customer probably does not need to make more than one payment/month to pay their electric, water, gas, etc. I wish they would just charge a nominal fee ($1-$2) for each payment and every biller, and get rid of this silly new restriction -- hopefully that would be enough to sustain them.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it above, but my electric bill payment failed because -- under the new interface -- you need to select a payment 2 days ahead of time when using a debit card. Nobody told me of the failure; I discovered it by chance. And the Evolve Money phone rep told me of the two-day requirement.

Email which was just received:
Due to changes in our risk and regulatory compliance policies, Evolve Money will be implementing a limit of one payment per biller account per month. This change takes effect September 1, 2014. There are no limits on the number of cash payments made with a Reloadit pack or Evolve Pay Bucks. We realize that some of our users have taken advantage of the multiple payments per month to pay off larger expenses such as mortgages. We are currently working on ways to improve the bill paying experience for you and expect to announce details soon. Okay. So. Wow. Bummer. Reloadit packs for sale on credit anywhere? |

they don't need a sustainable business model. they just need a user base large enough for them to create a make-believe valuation metric that wall street will believe so that EvolveMoney can go public and private equity investors can cash out.

Got email from Evolve, rules are changing .....

Looks like the soonest money posting date is now September, so tread lightly!
And large. $999s only from here. |
Unless there is a way to do as suggested above where you can increase the value of a gift card to more than $500 by combining it with another $500, then there is basically no way for anyone to pay a mortgage anymore (without Reload it - which all my places have been shut down now).
We will still apply extra payments to loans via evolve and do smaller utils that we get charged a fee to pay with credit card directly, but back to bluebird for cars and house it seems. dEvolve, hope you can figure out a way to get loans paid off properly again or unfortunately you're going to lose a huge amount of business. |
9/1 change applies to date payment is initiated or delivered?

And large. $999s only from here. I called Evolve to ask this question, and the CSR provided the response that it is the payment initiation date that is used, so assuming she is correct, people should be able to make multiple payments/account for the rest of the calendar month. |

I had been wondering about the question I noted in the subject line since this change was announced yesterday. I didn't really see any other posts addressing my question until this one, which seems to suggest that the delivery date is the relevant date.

Interesting. I'd certainly like that to be true. But I thought that the four-payments-per-month rule was based on payment arrival date, and not payment initiation date, so I am assuming this is the same. Am I mistake on the previous rule?

I got a new Simon Mall VGC gift card by Blackhawk and it's not accepting my payment error e718 form of payment not accepted. UGH

Did you read the wiki?
I've received emails about four payments per month when I haven't, in fact, done four based on charge date, but have done four based on arrival date. Or, does just being in the Wiki make it true? |
