Crazy CVS this week will give you 5 bucks to buy their cards (2 Visa cards gets 5 bux), but for me it is a total PASS. I would take their MC - since it in theory is not an issue. Has anyone had issues with MC, or is Vanilla only Visa.

In CVS ads?

Does it work with One Vanilla VISA ?

One per household. Saw the tag at CVS myself tonight where they posted it early (not valid yet of course).

Sorry - the OneVanilla cards have been OK? If so, looks from the picture that they want the plain Vanilla cards - but it may work.

I have 5 x of the new VanillaVisa GC that can't be loaded onto BB. I took it to ALDI which only accepts debit transaction to see if I can set up PIN number. And guess what? I wasn't able to use the Vanilla GC as debit transaction and can't set up PIN number either. Which lead me to conclude that the debit function on these GC isn't working. Anyone has any success setting up PIN number and use the GC for debit transaction?

The same experience with ALDI.
No reports on successful use of 18-series (see wiki) for debit transactions.

Is there a way to tell from the code on the outside packaging whether they are 35s or 18s?

AFAIK, none.

Thanks raccah for the heads up. I bought two and spouse bought two as soon as CVS opened this morning. I have 4 ccs needing min spend and just opened a new BB, so lots of use. Of the 4 VGCs, one had the dreaded 18. The one bad one was in a package featured on the CVS ad- polka dot paper with bright blue bow. The good ones were packaged as: gold w/ silver bow, black/silver box with silver bow, white package with gold filigree design. Has anyone had luck getting Incomm to replace these bad cards?

Just left my CVS and knocked out 2 birds with one stone - used my two lemon Vanilla Visa GC's to buy two One Vanilla GC's. Only lost $5 on the deal and its better than having $998 tied up in perpetuity.

This has been mentioned before, but they do have the expiration date printed on the back of the packaging, that may be a hint. I've seen 20, 21 and 22. Package expiration data points would be helpful. As others have mentioned, it may be nice knowing there is 18/35 correlation but that doesn't help much if you can't figure out what you have prior to purchase.

Do you have the expiration dates for the cards? Since the expiration dates are printed on the outside packaging, it would be useful to determine if there is any correlation between the date and the 18/35 numbers.

For $5 and in rewards not cash, Im sitting this 1 out. Dont want to end up with 2 18s and now I paid $5 to use the GC as reg CCs

rather stick with the VRs besides its $2 cheaper for 2 so all you end up making is $3 and alot of worry if you will get Wammied or not
