Problem is will they allow multiple swipes of GCs to pay for it? 3 @ 200 so as to continue milking the Inks @ OSs. since my Nov is long done hopefully things will be in order for my Dec run, which I will take care of very slowly rather then getting all the GCs 1-2-3 and be left with how to unload them all

Yup the small denominations will either need to go AP or other such CC routes, but as many say - this is still a YMMV. Some are having no issues - lucky for them! I guess it is a warning. Buy one and see if it works. If it does BRAVO for you!

Seems to be a regional freak-out. If this started at the top of the WMT chain and disseminated as a priority item from there you'd see it nationwide.

Just bought 2K of MOs with 4 VGCs at my local WMT 30 minutes ago - no problem, same as always.

My guess is that you live in Southern California. This seems to be the hot spot for fraud and abuse of MS paraphernalia. The vast majority of fake GC and already redeemed VR/MP reports come from this area. My guess is that due to the fraud in SoCal, Walmart regional has put the hammer down.

I thought raccah is based up in the SF area

However on my many trips to SoCal I never once had any problems in the many Wallys I went into, cant say that regarding the CVs. Or the Wallys in NJ that are within a close driving distance to the Howell area. 1 Wally for the longest time has a sign MO machine o/o/o due to the 100s from the Howell area who drove up there

In the SF Bay area I've seen this at the Fremont (militant enforcement), Milpitas (pretty strict) and Story Rd stores (hit and miss). It has been a while but Alameda still seemed OK.

Unfortuantely there isnt anything wrong with the New type of GCs you purchased. Seems they changed things to prevent them from being unloaded as we have been able to do thus far at least for the ones you got at CV. Cant address the ones you got from WM but seeing that they too are'18's even if you could activate them you will also only beable to use them like a CC and not a DC

If this is true, isn't Bancorp violating the law requiring a working PIN?

There is no law requiring PINs; it was a recommendation by Federal Reserve staffers that most in the industry felt inclined to follow.

Just to add some facts to the thread. Just loaded some OneVanilla GC to BB at my local WM without issue.

Bought the OneVanilla at CVS with the current deal they have running.

In the Raleigh, NC Area

Its IMPOSSIBLE for them to be 18s! The 18s belong to Vanilla and S sells MetaBanks GCs :D

THEsocalledfan Nov 21, 2013 7:42 pm

Piling on now, but recently received 4 shiny new cards from Walmart that I intended to liquidate at Walmart with first 6 digits being 484718....guess what happened?

Yep, rejection; like me with women in college.

THEsocalledfan Nov 21, 2013 7:51 pm

By the way, I did not see the answer, but is there any way anyone has found to get a pin for the 484718 cards? I'm sitting on about $1200, will soon need to liquidate much more than this. I suppose I can just run and buy some metabank cards with them, but would really like to pin them out.
