What we know so far, that we are happy to share, and won't get the hump when other people ask us or other people get the hump cos we know something they don't.

3V / Pay.com cards are no more

What does it mean?

Don't know what the bashing is for but if economy short haul redemptions works for then it works.

Can't say much at this stage, eh?

No need. I think we've figured it out.
During an Amex UK financial review, they do suspend the card accounts. But points accrued on BAPP/Starwood will still transfer as normal while the account is suspended and the Membership Rewards catalogue isn't suspended at all.

Does anyone have any experience with using surebets? (Anyone who actually does will completely understand this, others probably not).

Well, if you have experience with the process (specifically for manufactured spending), then it'd be nice to enter into a private discussion about which sites you use, methods of deposit (and withdrawal) and how successful you have been.

Ok, well surebetting itself, whilst being a lucrative value added activity, is outside of the scope of this forum to discuss. The Money Saving Expert forum Matched Betting section is probably the best place to discuss it openly.

Some credit card issuers get tetchy about any kind of gambling activity because many a good person have been led into defaulting this way. Amex don't like it at all and if you tell them you've been using their credit for this, you risk losing them and any MR points you've accrued. Whilst you might still be ok for collecting hotel points, that'd be quite a problem for collecting airline points. The other issue is spend relative to income - you might be flagged for a Financial Review if you keep doing it. If the bookies think you're up to something dodgy, they'll just shut your account. If you're dealing with big numbers it's best to make one deposit then withdrawal very infrequently. You probably know this already but you have to wager any deposits. Withdrawing without wagering sets the alarm bells ringing when the request comes before the person who oks it.

Although the betting itself is a form of arbitrage, the risks come with causing discomfort within the companies involved. Tread carefully.

As is repeated over and over in this thread by those in the know, any opportunity will no longer be shared publicly as within a short space of time that opportunity will be closed - either by malicious individuals, or by companies themselves when they discover their products being used in ways that were not intended - even if those ways are within the T&C's.

It is still possible to MS in the UK at significant levels, with new opportunities opening and closing all the time.

The best advice is to read every single page in this thread multiple times, and understand what sorts of the opportunities exist, risks associated and then find similar products of your own. The people doing MS spend months, sometimes years to find opportunities and hone their particular angle as well as building up their credit profiles to be able to support volumes that make the activity worthwhile..

Since you need a rewards credit card to start earning points, the fact you have no credit rating would suggest for the moment this will not work for you. You might want to work on this aspect first.

Just in case of interest - and as I recall it's very difficult to manufacture credit card spend via matched betting because of cash advance fees and blocks to Amex for anything that might end up in a gaming site - I wrote the original guide to matched betting on moneysaving expert. It's fairly easy and very lucrative. Any questions, ping me.
