What we know so far, that we are happy to share, and won't get the hump when other people ask us or other people get the hump cos we know something they don't.

3V / Pay.com cards are no more

That is all.

I've only just looked up this 3V thing now and it's only taken me about 5 minutes to realise a way that I can potentially put the cash back into my account without paying any fees whatsoever. However does it not look a bit dodgy to HMRC etc. when big amounts of money are leaving and coming back into your account every month?

I would suggest worrying first about finding if your method is actually working before the finer details of HMRC are a concern

Yes. Just to add that the extinct 3V->NS&I->bank account route invovled lots of the same kind of movement of money basically in a big circle and I don't remember anyone suggesting HMRC were remotely interested.

If HMRC wishes to audit you, the ten minutes showing them your credit card statements (where the money goes out), NS&I statements (or other scheme where the money goes through) and bank account statements (where the money comes in) will be the least of your concerns.

£50 3v vouchers?

I don't think they exist.

I saw new Amex gift cards in Tesco today - https://www.americanexpress.com/uk/p...ift-cards.html

They are available in £30 and £50.

And before you get too excited, there is a £3.95 fee just like on the Visa. Well, on the £50 one, I did not check the cheaper one in much detail but no reason to expect anything less than £2.95.

It has nicer packaging than Visa though.

With exactly the same fees, I don't see how it makes sense (unless you intend to buy as a gift as it does look nicer/more premium). Visa is accepted more widely, and those fee-Visa cards can be deposited into NS&I.

In my local store, they seem to have decided to stock these Amex branded cards INSTEAD of 3V. I hope this is only temporary 😕

If what you say is true, expect to be inundated with PMs from desperate people hoping for you to share the info with them!
