Sorry if this has already been answered. My question is around daily spend limit on the MVD card. I have 2 of these cards and although i had more funds on these cards anything i swiped over the amount of 5K at walmart got declined
Is it true that 5K is the daily pin based transaction limit for the MVD card even if you have more funds available  |

So sad to hear that this organization is mistreating its best customers. Maybe we should all switch to an organization that supports its best customers. I nominate HSBC Holdings, an organization which really supported its best Mexican customers by cutting resources for its anti-money-laundering programs. Now that is customer service for you!
"Lack of proper controls allowed the Sinaloa drug cartel in Mexico and the Norte del Valle cartel in Colombia to move more than $881 million through HSBC’s U.S. unit from 2006 to 2010, the government alleged in the case. The bank also cut resources for its anti-money-laundering programs to 'cut costs and increase profits,' the government said in court filings." And their CEO ain't even doing time...

+1 on moving past mvd. we mustnt try so hard to do business with a company that treats customers so badly. if this was a friendship, it would be one where your friend lets you drink one of his beers then beats the crap out of you. sure there is a small benefit to the relationship, but the beer is not worth the beating and there are better friends out there. by continuing to do business with mvd, we create market distortions. a healthy capitalistic society depends on consumers shunning bad choices in the market in favor of other more attractive choices. this creates incentives for companies that bring bad products to market to improve. we must lessen demand for mvd in order to encourage mvd to improve the product it brings to market. adam smith demands it!

Now, the irony is that CVS cashiers are asked to grill honorable, respectable CC customers, check and scan their ID with money laundering suspicion while the actual drug dealer/money launderer walks in with cash, no lD/DL required and no $5000 limit applies! they deserve more respect? The 'Intended purpose' of these cards is money laundering? or mfg. spending? |

This is what I have been doing since Dec, I couldn't be happier without checking my MVD accounts multiple times a day, and holding my breath while doing CA or MO. Extra dollar on one vanilla GC well worth it.

Wow. Living this type of MVD insanity sounds too stressful and miserable to me. But to each his own! No judgements here ;) This thread now has pure entertainment value. |
I was reflecting on how my account from last summer came back from the grave this week. I was told to go in spend down mode, and that I did...I spent it into a negative balance (by accident) with a cash advance fee higher than I thought it was. I'm wondering if the negative balance might have helped me account stay open in the end? Is there a reason not to go into the negative if you are in cash out mode?

you should view the terms and conditions of card use. Not only can you find out about daily use limits, you can find out about loading limits as well.
Is the 10K POS limit per day accurate ? If yes is that 10K across all your cards under the same SSN or it is per card cause i'm getting restricted at 5K per day ? Trying to figure out what people have experienced around this |
cardholder agreement here https://www.myvanilladebitcard.com/m...agreement.html
Under Using your card features, it says: The maximum amount that can be spent on your Card per day is $5,000.00. The maximum value of your Card is restricted to $9,999.99. Not sure how you plan on doing something for $10k. |

In 2011/12(?) Wells Fargo Paid $2 billion+ (?) fines for money laundering, a settlement with Justice department. Every bank tries to out do the other. Some people call them Banksters! Last year JP morgan Paid 20 billion in total fines, this year they kick off with 2.6 billion fine for being involved with Madoff

Just used my 2nd MVD card yesterday for the first time, to make an estimated tax payment. I logged in to my MVD account this morning and all was fine -- it showed as "active." Then I went to the VR site to reload the card. I loaded the first 4 VRs just fine. But when I tried to load the 5th, I got an error message. Logged back in to my MVD account, and was already in "spend down" mode.
So it took less than the amount of time it takes to load 5 VRs for their computers to nab me! And I had never even used the card in an "inappropriate" way. |
