Breaking down the $1,000 can be a hedge against having too much money tied up should any of your accounts get suspended (and funds be held for up to 6 months).

Also as a quick question, I've seen a lot of people posting about breaking up their sends. Is this necessary or just a precaution? I was hoping to make the process as simple as possible by just doing a $1000 send each month.

To add another data point, I tried sending $1000 on Sunday, 12/1 around 6 pm. It didn't clear immediately, but it cleared 6 hours later around midnight. All seems to be well now.

Sending a single $1k payment on or near the first of the month just screams for trouble imho. Just send an odd figure for several hundred dollars early in the month and another odd figure a week later. Just because you can send $1k every month does not mean you should. I would rather send $9xx.xx a month per account for another year than $1k for two months then get shut down.

I thought the fee structure for AP was changing as of 12/4 making today the last day to use AP for manufactured spend. Was I wrong?

ZBigFam, I can not even see any Fee table on AP, however I got a notification from AMEX SERVE that they will begin charging Fee's starting on the 4th. Could this be what you were thinking of?

Check out this link. This is what i am referring to. don't get me wrong if people can keep on using it without a fee then that's awesome but the new fee structure that i see in the link below seems to put a major damper on MS.

These are merchant fees that apply to businesses that accept Amazon Payments.

Multiple Accounts closed

I have 3 AP accounts, one for myself, DH and DS. I know I goofed up sometime in the summer and opened a second account for DS - but I never used it.
11/30 payment to me from DS failed. 'He' had an email from AP stating that they found multiple accounts - this was not allowed and all accounts were closed.
So, my question is...can I open up another account for him or should I just lay low for awhile..if so - how long?

Thanks!

It would probably be safe to create a new account for him as long as he only has one that is tied to his SSN. Is is unused account still open?

The most AP I did in one citi billing cycle was $2,000. Typically I do $1,000/month on Citi. No problems so far.

They said both accounts would be closed. However, I can still access them. When I try to 'Send Money' - it says my account is in a suspended state.

It's probably safe to create a new account. Just don't send too much money at once to avoid the risk of having it frozen.
