scheduled - airswift - manila > el nido Lio airport

pulo to manila
arrive 1040

airswift to el nido Lio
depart 1120 / 1215 / 1515

airswift to manila
arrive 0915 / 1015 / 1315

manila to pulo
depart 1300
depart 1600

airswift avoids commercial terminal (which has more flights to palawan)

charter one way distances >
96 miles by seaplane or helicopter
110 miles by boat (possibly charter for 1 or 2 days?)
could also do el nido Lio airport or others on palawan
have to be specific and probably work with operators
pulo has 3 19-pax dornier 228 (possibly $10K / hour)

many here want comfort so luxury hotels assume that
some of us do not care about comfort for logistics

wonder if possible to get to pulo/airswift planes airside from terminal 4

Ah that info is much appreciated, but doesn't look like it can work. With the times Pulo has for it's flights to/from Manila, I don't think we would have enough time to get to Manila, change to El Nido, go from El Nido to Mantiloc, and then make our way back to catch the last flight back to Pulo. Really frustrating as it's such a long trip to get there and we don't have time to add any other days to get to El Nido separately. Shame Pulo doesn't offer other excursions to the main Philippine highlights.

ask pulo about a boat charter
otherwise direct with operators, not easy
seems only 'experts' here dont care re cost

can do 1 night stay at el nido even in middle
re connections, they avoid commercial airport
edited my post including possible pulo charter rate

most pulo guests do not want shared group trips
also rooms/occupancy vs most FS, RC, etc resorts
but could split charters if any other guests interested

have you seen a resort offer things 100 miles away?

unfortunate tapa left aman, could have asked

could also ask el nido about charter boat / air
or if staying at a luxury hotel in manila

I have seen resorts offer things miles away. When we stayed at Amanpuri, we worked with them to book diving off the Similan Islands, and in Kyoto, we worked with our hotel to secure some trips to Hiroshima. So it can be done, though I acknowledge it takes some effort on the hotel's part. Unfortunately, we are not staying anywhere else on this short trip, so I don't think we can ask any one else for assistance.

i would not assume that el nido isnt interested in chartering one of their boats
not sure what boats pulo has, el nido is just a larger less expensive operation

sourcing is different than if pulo gave price of chartering their own dornier 228

those here who use agents could ask re virtuoso onsites / DMCs

you ran into what my problem is with DMCs, a lack of a 'menu'

re puri, curious re fleet, some suggested possible to book direct for less

Out of the Palawan 4BR Villas is there one that's preferable? I think they are numbered 21-25?

If I'm staying at Raffles in Manila before and after, Should I talk to Raffles or Aman for transportation to the Airport and back after we return from AmanPulo?

Usually Raffles, but I had Aman take care of everything for me for past stays. They have a fleet of S-Class and Vans based at their air hangar.

Until Tapa T ‘ s time , we either had Pulo ‘ s fleet or our company car ( chauffeurs who thankfully know the airport drill ) pick us . AMAN used to take care of everything very well - go beyond even when we had assured them all was in order , these days we aren’t too sure , GM dependent ? ..
Aman should still be used and not other hotel ‘ s

Although I am not a fan of anything regarding this Pulo regime, one plus of using them for transfers is that they know the timing of the plane and can keep in touch with
the driver. Our flight, for example, was an hour late and I'm not sure how an independent source would have known that.

That's kind of what I was thinking.
At what point as you approach your stay do they reach out proactivly to schedule those kinds of things, if they do?

Also, has anyone stayed in one of the 4BR Palawan villas? is there a prefered location? furthest North, furthest south, in the middle?

Raffles vs. Fairmont Gold

For staying in Manila which would you suggest as a family? Raffels or Fairmont Gold?

It is the same building, connect through a walkway. Though it cannot even be compared, as Raffles is leagues ahead naturally. I would recommend one of their Executive Suites, especially the corner suites afford beautiful views and are a good choice for a family.

Not much choice in Manila, I am hoping for MO to return in the next few years.

If staying at Pulo, could book Peninsula as they have friendly relations, but Raffles is much more contemporary.

First Stay at Amanpulo went very well. We stayed in a Villa. We had no issues. I think the Villa experience might be different than staying in a Casita however.
