Be sure to ask for a room on a higher floor -- the vistas from the 9th floor are great and all but a handful of rooms have balconies.
Be sure to get your fill of Pasteis de Belem -- THE best portugeuse egg tarts!

The FS Ritz Lisbon is a old-school hotel with great bones but one of the ugliest exteriors. Interiors are great. The Lobby is massive; there are large sitting areas in the elevator lobbies on each floor; the hallway is extra wide -- they just don't/can't build hotels like this anymore....

Thanks for confirming what I've heard from many people about this hotel; I'm really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it's sold out next week so it may be another month or so before I get there, but when I do, I'll be sure to post some comments and impressions.

Where are you going next?
Uggboy - Burning marriott points at the Renaissance (in the city, not airport). As for the Westin, will only be there for a wedding for one night. Will do my best with Barcelona and Westin Kierland trip reports.

OK, just made our last reservation for the summer. These are all family trips.
