95% of the time should be fine (I've done 30 - 45 minute scheduled connections many times). In the 5% of times where there is a large delay and you miss the LHR flight you will be put on the next one.
Munich is a great airport to connect at - much better than FRA.

Looking at booking a TLV-MUN-LHR redemption flight (BD miles) with just 35 minutes connection time. (TLV flight arrives at 18:30 and flight to LHR leaves 19:05)
Sounds a bit tight to me, what do you guys think?
Only reason I was thinking of this rather than via FRA was the fact that it would get me home earlier.
Anyway I am totally unfamiliar with MUN airport so have no idea...

LH sells this connection on their website so it is a legal connection but no one can guarantee that the TLV flight will arrive on time. Yesterday, for example, it arrived 32 mins late.

Hello
I have a flight (Delta 130 - Atlanta, USA to MUC) that arrives in MUC at 8:00.
My connecting flight is booked with Lufthansa (operated by Air Dolomiti) to VCE, departing 11:05.
I take it I will have to:
1. Go through immigration
2. Collect bags
3. Transit from terminal 1 to terminal 2
4. Check in, security, board the Dolomiti flight
Is this correct? Or is there some sort of transfers facility set up for my situation? I assume not since I am coming from Non-Schengen.
How long does the connection between T1/T2 take? Is non-schengen immigration at terminal 1 efficient?
I assume I am in good shape given I am arriving relatively early and have 3 hours. Just worried about my Delta flight arriving a little late (looks like it has a good history though).
Thanks for your help!!

DL can check your bags thru. If they do, all you do is walk thru immigration to T2 and show them your luggage tag and get the boarding pass issued for the next leg. Customs will take place in VCE.

Not knowing about your travelling class and status with Lufthansa I recommend to recheckin at T2 one 1hr before departure.

There is even an airside bus between T1 and T2, but since the OP is coming from the US he/she will end up landside and has to breathe some MUC air

I was looking up a booking for a friend and she wants to fly to YYZ-Gdansk and back from Dresden.
I haven't flown lufthansa and I've never been in the munich airport, but I've read that munich is good for connecting flights.
On both legs of the flight LH has connection times of 45 minutes.
I double checked the flights and if she misses the connection she's toast as there isn't another flight that day - well technically she could fly on a later flight to LHR and then back to YYZ but I'm not sure how that would work if the LHR plane was full.
Does anyone know how realistic this is?
Would she make the connections?
Would her luggage make it?
thanks for your help!

I'm arriving on LH Metal from YUL to MUC. and departing LH from MUC-FCO.
I arrive on a Friday at 7:50am and depart at 9:35am. I have a little less than 2 hours to connect. My questions are...
Since I'm arriving LH and departing LH I am too assume I won't need to switch terminals?
Do I go through some kind of immigration, like I do when I enter the USA or England?
After everything is said and done and I'm waiting for my flight to MUC will I have time to do some shopping to get some german souveniers?
sorry for the questions, I don't normally connect in Europe I normally fly direct to the city in europe I wish to fly. I did London and Rome last year direct from North america. There are many flights to take me directly into Rome that I could of taken and avoided connecting however I wanted to fly LH F, which means connecting in Germany.

If the first legs are on time you will be fine.
If your AC flight is delayed more than 1 hour there are several other flights later that day. Worst case you need to go thru FRA.
On the way back: If your inbound is delayed there are many other options thru FRA or other airports.
So you will be fine.
Connecting in MUC is far, far easier than any connection at a US airport (immigration is easy and fast, you don't need to wait for luggage and take it thru customs).

Yes, you'll need to clear immigration as you are entering into (and connecting to) the Schengen Zone.
The Last time I connected in MUC, I had a 30 Minute layover (albeit arriving from Switzerland and connecting to Austria, so all within Schengen and therefore Immigration/Security Check free), and I had time to buy a bottle in the Duty Free (and pick up a few Miles whilst doing so, too ).
MUC as an Airport for Connecting is really good. ^
