Are all CRJs boarded by bus / Bus gates
I tried searching the thread, but I did not find the answer.
Does anybody know whether all CRJs are boarded by bus at MUC? I'll be connecting to a CRJ900 in early May.
Also, are there any designated bus departure gates at MUC like at FRA?
Thanks.

Usually all CRJs are boarded by bus, the odd numbered gates from H/G1-48 are usually the bus gates, plus anything above 48 is a bus gate too.

55 min connection at MUC going ATH-MUC-EWR?
From the discussion here and my prior good experiences at MUC this 55 min connection sounds reasonable - travel in August. Wanted to check with the experts on here if they think this should be fine?

It's fine, you'll be exiting Schengen in MUC, which is painless usually.. for US-bound flights there is some more security/screening, but unless your incoming flight is late, you'll be perfectly fine. As always, the more important it is that you actually arrive on time, the longer the transfer time should be

Guys,
Because of work I will be cutting a vacation short. This has caused me no end of pain trying to get from Brendisi Italy to San Diego California. I was able to piece together a flight on a different ticket (Air Berlin) connection to a LH/United code share flight. I will arrive in MUC at 10:55am and my flight to ORD leaves at 12:20pm. This leaves me only 1:25 minutes to go through password control, pickup my luggage and make it to the forwarding flight.
Is that going to be ok? I've been reading about how great Muc is for this kind of thing but I'm still very nervous doing this considering it's two different tickets and if Air Berlin is late they don't have to get me to my destination.
Thanks in advance.

In your scenario, with checked luggage, there is no way you'll make it. Two tickets, two different alliances. IF you can get AB to check your baggage through from Brindisi onto UA, you will make it, as long as AB is not significantly delayed into Munich. You will probably make it with only carry-on luggage as well.
First: the good news. There is no passport control in Munich arriving from Italy. But, you will have to wait for your bags in Munich. I have no experience with AB in MUC, but it is reasonable that the waiting time at the carousel will eat up much of the 25 minutes you have before UA closes luggage check-in. Your flight is on UA metal, and United lists last luggage check-in as being 60 minutes at MUC. You should count on about 10 minutes to get from T1 (AB) to T2 (UA/LH).
LH has a luggage check-in cut-off at 40 minutes to all destinations at MUC, but it would be risky to gamble on them honoring that, on a UA flight. Even 45 minutes for luggage pick-up, a quick run between terminals and new check-in is cutting it very short IMHO.
In your situation, I would either try and find a flight from another Italian airport on LH/EN (NAP or FCO) to Munich or travel with carry-on only.

It's a roll aboard but too big for AB to let me bring it on. They only allow 8k and it'll be more then that. So I could pick it up and then head on to UA and carry it on.
Only problem now is the award ticket is now gone.
Drat!!

You would still be cutting it very short: 15 minutes wait for luggage, 10 minutes run from T1 to T2, the security screening. If AB is on time, you'll probably make it, but risky!

What about ex USA into FRA? I am glad that I picked MUC as connection. So much nicer for other reasons.
