I have a UAXXXX ticket operated by LH (couldnīt book it on LH webpage due to a stupid company policy). I was informed that I cannot upgrade the ticket using miles or vouchers because itīs from UA stock.
The only way is to upgrade at the check-in counter (to P.E. or C). In this case (a paid UPG at the airport), the award and status miles will correspond to the original class (V) or the new one (N or P)? Thanks

Thanks. I ended up using krisflyer and there was 0 yq for my trip. Figured It'll be a "same same but different" opportunity when I use my LH points intra US (extra 2.5 here less 2.5 there).

Not even a cold snack, crew often only hand out a little candy bar or similar during boarding! One quick round of drinks and that it. With that comparison the SN lounges are paradise indeed.
+1 on the SN direct although last time I took that flight there was a 40min queue for the document check at the B gates and no C/priority queue

Check this thread, and don't forget that you're not chained to the LH group.

New frst timer on LH long haul F
Thinking of trying F long haul on LH 747-8 to LAX (LH404) to fly this aircraft in LH F with the FCT at FRA. If you connect at FRA on a UK flight can you only get a car to the FCT if the aircraft parks out ?
If you stay overnight at FRA Hilton can you walk to FCT easily next morning?.
Also going to come back on LH41 on 77W to try LX F. are there any material difference in the service onboard. Will I get F lounge access in ZRH on transfer to European shorthaul in J.
Many thanks for your help.

Have a morning LO flight coming up out of BRU. Can I drop my bags the evening before? Called the airline, they said that it might be possible, but they can't guarantee anything. Any experiences?

This might be a stupid question and for all I know, might have been asked and answered multiple times before. But here goes.
How does the Mileage earning on partner airlines work for intercontinental flights work?
The mileage table for Air India is as follows:
Destinations worldwide
Flights from / to / between non-European destinations
First Class
A, F: 3.0 x distance; at least 1,500 miles
Business Class
C, D, J: 2.0 x distance; at least 1,000 miles
Z: 1.5 x distance; at least 500 miles
Economy Class
B, Y: 1.5 x distance; at least 500 miles
V: 1.0 x distance; at least 500 miles
H, K, M, Q: 0.5 x distance; at least 250 miles
G, W: 0.25 x distance; at least 250 miles
So does that mean if I earn mileage for my flights on AI only if the departure or destination is a non-European city e.g. I would be able to earn miles if I fly DEL-BLR/BKK/PVG/HKG bit not if I fly FRA/LHR/FCO-DEL?
Asking since I would be travelling a lot to Asia in the near future and the company's policy is to book the cheapest flight available, which means it won't be LH for sure.
Thanks in advance.

Friday
August 25, 2017 20:05
21:35 Vienna
Dusseldorf
OS 8843 operated by Eurowings
Monday
September 11, 2017 19:15
20:45 Rome - Fiumicino
Munich
LH 1847 operated by Lufthansa
Monday
September 11, 2017 22:30
15:35+1 Munich
Hong Kong - Chek Lap Kok Intl. Airport
LH 730 operated by Lufthansa
Tuesday
September 12, 2017 18:00
20:15 Hong Kong - Chek Lap Kok Intl. Airport
Manila - Ninoy Aquino International

1) How do I get my boarding passes? Will it be given to me once I check-in at Manila?
2) Will my bags be checked in until my final destination?
3) I have very short connecting time at each airport. Will the transfer desks assist me?
4) If I dont get my boarding passes in Manila, where should I get them?
Its my first long haul flight on different airlines. I hope you guys could help me out. Thanks!
