Is it still true that the "bidding for upgrades" feature is only available when the ticket was issued by LH or are flights marketed and operated by LH (but on another airline's ticket stock) eligible as well?

IME only LH stock is eligible.

Well, DUB-MUC is 2hrs 15 mins long, and during lunch time so having something better than the usual sandwich could be great. Also, I never flew LH Business Class so it's out of curiosity!
Last but not least, there's a bonus in terms of miles earned (750 vs 125 in eco)

Does anyone have experience making a my offer bid, at the same time while an e-voucher upgrade is waitlisted?

I currently have an intercontinental upgrade segment waitlisted ( e-voucher) but I am hesitant to make an my offer on the intra european segment, for fear that is will all get screwed up. Such is my confidence on LH IT.

Just to report back, my bids were accepted for the two following flights :

07.09.2017
DUS-MUC LH2011 : Y (K) to J (P), 45 € (minimum bid)
MUC-BOS LH424 : Y (K) to PE (N), 105 € (minimum bid was 100 €)

Pretty happy for the almost 9-hour MUC-BOS, especially as the initial return ticket DUS-BOS in economy was only 360 €. For those wondering why I would upgrade the very short segment DUS-MUC, it was mainly for lounge access and food.

Hope LH2011 doesn't get cancelled though, as was the case three times in the last four days for some reason...

Very nice, this is usually the minimum for Germany-USA?

Yes, that's a good result on the MUC-BOS PE upgrade. I was really hoping to find something similar when I faced a return leg on LO from ICN to WAW but IIRC they were asking something like €225 as a starting bid.

If I pay for an upgrade at the gate, is the booking class mapping the same as for a MyOffer ? I have a PE (E) booking and do not want MyOffer, I found the introduction price too high (630 Euros). I will try my luck at the gate of the return (overnight) flight and see if they propose less than 600 Euros. If they do and I purchased, will it book into Z, like a MyOffer upgrade ?

If I'm not mistaken, the booking class (and mileage credit) remains unchanged when upgrading at the gate/on the plane/at the airport's check-in counter.

That's in difference to MyOffer and (fixed-price) cash upgrades prior to check-in, which indeed affect booking class and mileage credit.

Cash upgrades at the gate do not change the booking class for mileage crediting purposes.
