Then I would book a tower room and do the $20 trick to upgrade to a tower suite.

Do you find the $20 trick to work in these circumstances?

I'm 1 for 1...The travel forum at FW has an extensive thread on the $20 trick and specific instances in which it worked or didn't work and why.

I haven't stayed at Luxor in years, but hubby just returned from a stay in a regular Tower room and was not happy with it. We used to always stay in the Pyramid suite, and even though it was worn and had a kind of funky layout, I always LOVED the spa tub by the window. It was always cool to sit in there looking down the strip, and I found it relaxing during breaks in the Vegas action.

? Luxor - anyone ever stay in a Player Deluxe Room

Anyone ever stay in a Player Deluxe Room at the Luxor?

I have a good offer, but I am not sure where a Player Deluxe Room is located on their property - in the pyramid or in one of the (east/west) towers?

If these type rooms are located in the pyramid, I am concerned they may be run down.

Thanks.

Take a look at the picture:

http://www.luxor.com/hotel/hotel_pla...luxe_room.aspx

They don't have those windows the pyramid rooms have, so I think they are in the towers.

The photo is a clue, so is the room size and description (same square footage as a tower deluxe room, separate tub and shower).

I'm a guy, so I rarely dispense this advise, but if you're still unsure you can call Luxor reservations and ask. Maybe they are all lower floors or something like that (since there's no mention of a view)?

They are in the East and West Towers and mention a floor to ceiling window so assume there is a view to see.

Yet who cares about the view from your room when you are in "Las Vegas"

Express Bag Check @ Luxor

I just read that United has or will have express bag check in at the Luxor for $20. Does anyone have any more info on this? Can we drop off bags for International flights? Thanks.

Delta and US Airways have it as well. I thought about using it when it was staying at the Luxor a few weeks ago but it ended up I didn't need to check a bag (and the elite line at LAS has never been bad for me so it wasn't worth $20 to me).

Has anybody been to the club inside the Luxor called LAX?

dcpatti Jun 21, 2008 9:39 pm

I've been to LAX. Lighting is good, it's a comfortable space but the crowd is very very very "young with money" and you really must like techno/dance because that is almost all they play (or at least on my various visits).

I liked TAO in the Venetian a lot better, gets a more grown-up crowd, worth the cab fare IMHO.

Opinion on Luxor LAS

They have a new promo:
Code: PDTRVL
$50 gas/air fare credit and $10 in casino money.

LINK:
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/b...omo&code=PTRVL

Rates from $59/night.

I've read mixed reviews on the various sites. Can someone enlighten me please?
I know there is some construction at Luxor. The pool is bigger than PH.

I am staying at PH for $89/night and 2 free buffets.

You may get better answers in the Las Vegas forum. Of course, if you leave PH, you lose the Starwood points.
