I had one today where the process skipped us for some reason. Thankfully, the first agent I called was able to move us to mint without much issue. FWIW, I did modify the reservation maybe a week ago to move us to an earlier departure with more open mint seats; not sure if that modification contributed to the issue.

Did you get the “we’re sorry” email before you called up?

I just booked JFK-LAS flight on 1/5/24……after the new policy goes into effect.

I guess in theory I should be able to use certs now to upgrade my flight.

But I have not been offered that option, And I won’t be surprised if I am not able to process an upgrade until 1/4/24.

The changes don’t come into effect until 2024.

I assume your current certs all expire in 2023? You may not even be credited new certs by the time of your flight…

Yes Coleslaw, it’s possible I won’t receive my 2024 certs by the date of my flight.

No; I didn't receive any communication at all. In fact, I called shortly after the 24 hour mark and the agent apologized and said "I see that they're still processing upgrades on this flight, if you don't receive an upgrade by tomorrow morning, call us back then" so that is what I did. (I suppose my original post should have said that the second agent I talked to processed it without issue, but the first agent understood the issue and didn't give me any runaround about "nothing we can do, it's an auto process" or whatever. Just said to call back and they'll do it manually if we still hadn't upgraded by the morning.)

My upgrade from BOS-SFO on the 26th processed 2 days before and i was able to order a special meal and had no issues with the process.

Not my experience at all. SDC on Tuesday JFK-LAX on RUC ticket (via an agent) without any issues. Took all of 3 minutes and I had a seat assignment and off I went. Same on recent sked changes - massive change, wanted different DL operated flights and was handled quickly and without question - for sure it isnt that way with AFKLVS but on DL metal, I havent had any issues with upgraded legs post sked change.

How did you apply RUC on LAX-JFK transcon for Delta One? I can't find a way to apply RUC for domestic Delta One.....

Does this mean that a single leg would cost 4 certificates? If so, it’s way worse than I thought it would be

Is that how many certs you have left? What happens on next screen for payment? If it’s really 4 then it’s really bad.

For sfo to fll it errors and says this flight is not eligible for move to mint haha.

I am seeing 1 cert for LAX-JFK (on a low-demand day of course).

This was after booking.

I also thought it might be my certificate balance, but I think they're really charging 4 here.

I was able to upgrade to 4 mint suite on LAX-JFK transcon using 4 move-to-mint certificates, which means 1 cert required for each passengers. This is on an award booking using points.

olouie Jan 4, 2024 4:05 am

Sfo to fll and site says that 4 certificates are not sufficient to upgrade to mint. Hopefully just a glitch.
