Same on recent sked changes - massive change, wanted different DL operated flights and was handled quickly and without question - for sure it isnt that way with AFKLVS but on DL metal, I havent had any issues with upgraded legs post sked change.

It can go both ways, depending entirely on whether your ticket has been reissued after applying the RUC - which some agents will still do but others seem to have been instructed not to reissue the ticket ("it'll be done automatically a few days before travel").

If my RUC cleared at booking because inventory was available, and my RUC shows as closed, that means I'm all set and I don't need it reissued, right?

This is the JetBlue thread but yes — assuming you applied it online and didn't call it in you don't need to get the ticket reissued

Oops! I had multiple tabs open and this happened to mention RUCs. :D

Got upgraded at T-42 for JFK>SFO on the A321neo  A fun new JetBlue IT wrinkle: I got two "Movin' on up to Mint" emails... followed by the 'we're sorry we couldn't upgrade you due to capacity' boilerplate email. Called in to the Mosaic line to confirm I was indeed in Mint and the rep said they've been seeing all sorts of email issues lately. Just a heads up in case anyone encounters the same!

I got upgraded on my Wednesday flight from LAX-JFK at T-38. I was looking at ExpertFlyer at T-42 and there were 5 Mint seats open. Around T-40 it was down to 3 Mint seats and after I cleared it is down to 1 Mint seat open. Excited as this will be my first time trying out Mint and my first time in a loooooong time flying JetBlue!

I’m booked JFK-LAS this week. Received email T-48 saying I did not get upgraded.
checked online and there was one seat available to sell.
Called mosaic line and got a helpful agent (Kelly) who told me the system will not upgrade Move to Mint if there is only one seat available.
Kelly said I should call back at T-12 and a manual upgrade might be possible

Have 2 tickets for BOS-LAX for tomorrow evening - received the email about T-37 that we got upgraded to Mint - YAY! So pumped about that. Was showing 4 seats in the seat map but 3 seats in Expert Flyer, and now showing 1 in Expert Flyer and the only two remaining on seat map are the 2 Mint Studios. Also, Delta PM here using the status match :)

Does anyone know what happens re: the Mint Studios for an upgrade? I am assuming the discrepancy is because 1 person has Mint but has not selected their seat - does that mean they get Studio without the up charge? What are people's experiences with that?

Pretty disappointing first experience with Jet Blue and these certificates as a Delta status match recipient. 24 hours out and there are three mint seats for sale on my flight and I was not upgraded. Called to see if the upgrade could be processed because there are enough seats available and was told that if the system does not process the upgrade, they can't apply it manually. Called one more time in case it was just a bad agent, but nope, this is policy. Nobody could explain why I was not upgraded either.

Of course this is only one specific situation, I don't have any experience with irregular operations or schedule changes on Jet Blue, but my first impression is that Jet Blue does not empower their agents to make things right. My calls were like scratching nails on a chalkboard and had me begging for a Delta agent. At least with Delta if you get the right agent, they can work wonders for you.

IIRC manual updates are not possible. And the one seat hold seems to contradict what jetblue was publicity saying when I tweeted this new policy. Really bad how shady they are being with the upgrade policies. I will have 3 certs going unused this year and debating if its worth it to apply for the CC.

Yeah, after reading through this thread I realize it was a waste of time to call because they can't apply manually. Which is a ridiculous policy by the way.

Anyways, I am looking forward to the changes to the certificates next year. Even though it seems like it will end up costing more than one certificate to confirm the upgrade immediately, I would prefer half as many confirmed upgrades instead of the current half baked system.

I've been told to expect a max of 2 on transcons and 3 on TATL. But not sure if that will be a typical number of certs to expect. I see this change as somewhat of a downgrade, especially compared to the DL RUC process.

New to Blue. Few questions on Move to Mint process:
1) If only Mint Studio left, do they give this as move to mint?
2) Do they Move to Mint if only one or two Mint regular seat available, or hold to sell?
3) At what point prior to flight do they end the Move to Mint upgrade process?
4) Seems priority is M4 before M3. Any other known prioritization?

Thank you!

I can only answer question 4 confidently. The only priority (according to someone directly on Jetblue's loyalty team) is the timing the ticket was purchased. No M4 over M3 priority. It severely limits the value of M4 when M3 essentially gets the same benefits and requires much greater spend.

I agree with one reservation -

I’m definitely looking forward to a confirmed upgrade. I hope this includes seat selection and maintaining mint during schedule changes and irrops (it’s JetBlue, not holding my breath).

BUT for those who actually earned the certificates (and spent way too much time dealing with JetBlue’s “quirks” and service fails over the past year), and maybe even for those who dealt with trying to open the credit card to get the certs, going from 4 upgrades to 2 (assuming 2x for popular routes where paying for Mint doesn’t make sense and I would use a cert) is a bit of a bait and switch / downgrade overall.

It’s basically costing me one cert to get the confirmation in advance, but I can’t opt out of that and keep the extra cert. I’m not 100% convinced the advanced conf is worth the value of an additional upgrade, seems like a way to devalue the perk while adding a tech change that should have been there all along.

Thanks for this info. From my perspective, even if it's often 2 certs per confirmed flight on Mint, that may be an upgrade from DL RUC process for the routes I fly where B6 offers Mint. On Delta I am often doing LAX-JFK, LAX-BOS, LAX-DCA nonstops, and even as a Diamond with Reserve Card, applying a RUC will not nearly get the job done. Today's flight had 0 spots available for upgrade, and even with RUC applied, I was 6th on the list... tough sledding. Being able to use the Move to Mint certs as a sure thing for those highly-traveled transcontinentals is a win in my eyes.
