Just to kick start a wiki, with answers to frequent questions.
1. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. NGO-HNL is booked in business class, but HND-NGO is in economy. Will we still get the baggage allowance as if we're flying business class the whole way?
2. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. Will we have lounge access in HND?

I'm flying with Japan Airlines from HKG-NRT in a couple of weeks, and I am just trying to assess my luggage allowance - its a specialist trip - normally I wouldn't care so much about my allowances.
Can I get a few things cleared up?
On routes like HKG-HND - statusless pax in economy get 2 pieces of luggage at 23kg.
As for myself, a BA Executive Club gold member (equivalent to JGC Premier or JGC/JMC Diamond?), would I get a luggage allowance of 3 pieces of luggage at 32kg each.
(I'm basing my question on this JAL baggage link which mentions higher baggage allowances for JMB FLY ON and JGC members)
Or my luggage allowance will be 2 x 23kg plus an extra piec/20kg as per Oneworld shared benefits.
Thanks for your help Flyertalk'ers

Hi fellow travellers,
I recently attained JMB crystal status. Have not received my membership card yet. I have a JL flight later this week. I am just wondering, without the JMB Crystal card, will I be able to use priority check in counter? or presenting the membership card is a must?
Many thanks in advance.

~32kg would be at JAL's discretion, while I was a Cathay Gold(OWS), JAL did not charge me the overweight. But I wouldn't be able to argue if they did want to charge me.

Did you make your reservation before you reached Crystal? If so I would recommend that you remove your JL FFP # and re-enter it. It would definitely help if you have your JMB Crystal status printed on your boarding pass.
JL did allow me to use JGC check-in desk while I was waiting for my JMB Sapphire membership card. (in fact it was just that morning JL's system updated me as JMB Sapphire), as a result my boarding pass says "RUBY JMX", and Airport security staff at HND Int'l terminal would not let me use Fast Track security.

You should be fine for Priority Check-in and Priority Boarding.

With F coming back to SYD-NRT in late October, any idea on when the online menu/meal search function will have F menu re-added? Currently still showing only Y and J options. Just curious to get a peek at what I might expect when I fly on 9 Nov.

Seats ex-HEL
So I'm planning to fly to Tokyo next December to see the FIFA Club World Cup final, and I found very convenient J fares with JAL ex-HEL.
Now, I'm confused about the seats, the flight is operated with a 787, but with the newer SkySuites, or the old Pods?
I didn't find it as having SS8 in the wiki, but on the other hand the route offers Premium Economy, which according to Seatguru, is only available in the newest 787 with SkySuites.
So, what's the correct answer?
