First stay as PLT-AMB.

Reserved King Deluxe on AAA rate and was UPG'd to King Jr Suite.

Room was great, separate bedroom, though no door between the LV and Bedroom, great condition, 2 flat screen TV's, 42" in LV and 32" in bedroom, nice stone and tile in bathroom.

No Exec Lounge. Free breakfast at Shulas, which was "billed" at $17+ for the buffet, with made to order eggs.

The fruit and water (2 bottles of FIJI) ware in the room. Free internet (wireless) and free parking (of course for all as the garage doesn't have a gate or charge-valet is $10, waived for AMB.)

Great value, as the GH Tampa (I am Hyatt DIA, though I have 3 more nights on the Expedia deal at the IC) was $35 more, and the GH would have been more a Continental breakfast for free.

What is your Priority Club status?

Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
-Yes.
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked a club-room got a jr. suite.

- How are the rooms?

Very nice, although not the biggest. Very nice bathroom with a "wet-area" with shower and tub. L'occitane and Shiseido products but only once a day, not at turn-down. :-/

- How is the exec. lounge?

Huge with lot of space, tables, chairs and sofas. There is also two massage-chairs. Breakfast was very nice, but wished they had *real* cappuccino instead of the machine-coffee. The afternoon-tea was chocolates (Australian, unhealthy, but oh-so-good...:-)) and cookies. Pre-dinner was nuts and finger food and some sushi. There were never enough sushi!

- What was good and what was bad?
Good:

Nice upgrade and very nice lounge.

Bad:

Location is not the best and you have to take the tube or a taxi to get to any places.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

I liked the hotel and the lounge, but the location put me off.

Location and Club Lounge

Very nice. Great bathroom.

Good:

Great upgrade and nice views over Tokyo.

Bad:

Not the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in.

Not sure about great value and I wouldn't return unless I got a great rate. That said I did enjoy my stay - just lacked something........

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room under Priority Privilege. Got upgraded to a club room.

How are the rooms?
Very spacious with a mini living room, large toilet, great view showing the water cube and the bird nest from a distance.

How is the exec. lounge?
Club lounge was good. loads of tasty food, free flow alcohol. very quiet during my time of visit. My family and I were the only ones there.

What was good and what was bad?
Hotel's concierge was very, very knowledgeable. Location wasn't too bad - its near the subway station.

Bad was that this hotel is highly used for group occupancy. Had difficulty booking it again on a recent trip.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Booked it under the Priority Privilege rate and thought it was really good value for money. Yes, will return if I can book it again!

Platinum Ambassador

Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Absolutely

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard (i.e. superior) twin room, upgraded to Club room as there was no Deluxe twin room available.

How are the rooms?
Nice and modern style. Bathroom is huge with tub and seperated walk-in shower.
Club room basically means larger towels, special bathrobes and ipod-dock in the room.
only minus: it's a bit dark in the room, there are not enough lights IMO.

How is the Club Lounge?
Lounge is not really large (in comparison to Berlin, Bangkok etc.), located in the inner 'courtyard' on 2nd floor (like a terrace).
Breakfast selection is ok, eggs are made to order. Superb quality of food. Snacks (cold items only) are provided at noon, in the afternoon you may get some cake (only one choice), some cookies and some fruit salad. Open bar from 5pm to 8pm (so only 3h), evening snacks from 6pm to 8pm. As there are three hot dishes and some appetizers theres no need to have a dinner

WLAN in the lounge is complimentary, PC's in the lounge can be used at a charge (~5/15min).

Access to the lounge is provided 24/7 BUT they lock the fridges at 10pm. Staff is available from 6.30am to 10pm, mostly there is only one person (meaning that it's rather a self-service lounge).

What was good and what was bad?

^
- location (very convenient to the major shopping district & old town)
- perfect service
- nice upgrade including access to the lounge (I admit, it was just coincidence that I got it )
- room (regarding size, style & features)

- wellness area is operated by a third party ('Holmes Place'), so it costs 15 to use it (whatever category you booked/status you have)
- parking (garage) costs 28 per day and especially on saturdays it's not easy to find some space in front of the hotel
- not enough light in the room

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Stayed there on pointbreaks. Can't imagine any better value for 5K
Rates on that weekend started ~250 per night as some convention took place.

Would you return?
I will, in some weeks, again on pointbreaks

I am plat ambassador

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes, nice hotel

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked a regular room Sunday through Wed. I arrived early (noon) on Sunday and requested early check in. Not sure I got a true upgrade, but I was put onto the 35th floor in the tower (only 4 rooms on the floor including the presidential suite.) My room was pretty small though.. large bathroom, hallway, and enough room for a king bed, but that's pretty much it. Since I checked in early, they had to switch rooms, so free fruit benefits, etc. were delivered later. I think the "gift" was a coupon for a tall drink at Starbucks, which is adjoining the hotel.

- How are the rooms?

Fine, nice, expected for a 4-star hotel although the shower drained slowly

- How is the exec. lounge?

N/A

- What was good and what was bad?

Everything was pleasant. No complaints. Decent decor; great view. Generally excellent location.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

It was fine - went on a corporate trip for about $275 per night. I felt that room service and parking ($53) were over-priced, even for Intercontinental.

Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room. Got upgraded to a club room.

How are the rooms?
Rooms are slightly spacious but doesn't compare to the Intercontinental Beichen at the Olympic Village.

How is the exec. lounge?
Club lounge was alright. Still isn't as fantastic compared to the one at the Olympic Village. Limited selection and the staff didn't really top up the food after its finished despite within the club lounge hours.

What was good and what was bad?
Hotel's location is also quite superb - a subway nearby and not too far a ride for tourist attraction places such as Tian An Men, Forbidden city, etc. Breakfast at this hotel was superb! Great selection of foods. The Chinese restaurant wasn't too bad either.

Can't really fault this hotel on any major bad performance.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Value for $ - OK. Probably wouldn't return

Yes, Very Happy

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room under friends and family rate and received a junior suite on the 10th floor

How are the rooms?
Very large by New York standards with Shower big enough for two and a huge spa bath in the bathroom.

How is the exec. lounge?
n/a

What was good and what was bad?
Everything good so far, except the flush of the toilet sounds like a gunshot its so loud!

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
At the friends and family rate of 186 per night, a junior suite in midtown new york is a steal, so without a doubt i would return.

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a Junior suite and got upgraded to the Presidential suite

- How are the rooms?
Very, very nice and large! The room had a dining area, mini kitchen, living room area, SPA, steam room, jacuzzi and a great view.

- How is the exec. lounge?
Although it wasn't a 'wow', there were Friendly staff around with a decent selection of food. Free PCs available for internet surfing.

- What was good and what was bad?
Location is superb. Its just next to the Glorietta Shopping Mall in the heart of Makati city. Hard Rock Cafe was nearby too. Not too far from the airport either (traffic wasn't that bad on that day)

Bad - hotel didn't seem to match up as modern as other Intercontinental properties. Pool and gym area wasn't great.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Quite likely.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very happy

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room heavily discounted through hotwire and payed $80 a night to upgrade to a One Bedroom Corner Suite on the 29th floor.

How are the rooms?
Amazing. Floor to ceiling windows giving panaromic views across the skyline. Im sitting in the suite typing this on my laptop now and looking out the window is still making me grin from ear to ear.

How is the exec. lounge?
closed

What was good and what was bad?
Good.
Arrived at 8am and room was already available for check in.
Received a letter in the afternoon along with ambassador water/fruit alerting me that wifi would be free for my stay.

Bad.
Nothing so far!

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Combining the hotwire and $80 a night upgrade still ends up being less than $200 a night, and to end up with a One Bedroom Corner Suite is amazing value. At these rates (or even double) i would return in a heartbeat.

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room via Priority Privilege and got upgraded to a deluxe

- How are the rooms?
Alright. Somewhat below expectation. Fittings seemed quite old. Complimentary gift was a bottle of wine.

- How is the exec. lounge?
Wasn't offered access to it. Not sure if there was one as it was located as part of the casino.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good: Its inside the casino building! Its also a short walk to the train which takes abt 10 mins into Perth City. There's a shuttle bus to the train stop if one doesn't like walking. The hotel also has very good restaurants and promotional buffets. e.g. Pay one price for 2 dining on certain days.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Very likely

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very happy

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a King Club Harbour Executive suite and received the same room

How are the rooms?
Very good, the view from the 25th floor is outstanding towards the Opera house, but the Harbour bridge is slightly blocked. Bathrooms feeling a little bit old but still is good condition.

How is the exec. lounge?
Outstanding - The views, the staff and the atmosphere is great.

What was good and what was bad?
Good - The lounge and the staff throughout the hotel even though they were fully booked all staff were outstanding.

Bad.
No guaranteed upgrade and my welcome gift of wine never arrived. This problem has been rectified by the lovely ICH Sydney team member on these forums. Also the upgrades are now reserved when the booking is made and not at check in to avoid disappointment.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
The prepaid rate of $585 a night was pretty good as I booked quite late and is far better priced than other hotels in the same area with similar amenities.

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very impressed

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a deluxe room and got upgraded to somewhat of a lower end suite room. Not sure if it can be called a Junior Suite or not.

- How are the rooms?
Very modern and spacious. Deco, colour scheme was very warm. Had a nice very large flatscreen TV/bose system. Toilet was unique in terms of design features. Hadn't seen something like that in other IC properties.

- What was good and what was bad?
Location was convenient for most of the tourist attractions: Window of the world, Mini-CHina, Theme parks, etc. All within walking distance. Subway was also just outside the hotel. COnvenient commute from the train station - easily linked to Hong Kong too. Hotel had a Spanish/cow boy theme at the time. Not sure if its still the same now.

Bad - Can't really fault the hotel on anything bad

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Most likely no. Not because of the hotel, but I think I've seen all there is to see in Shenzhen.
