The movie wasn't honored because this was a free stay, since I used my Sweet Dilemma nights. I didn't really care, because I knew I wouldn't have time to watch the movie!

You're right - the hotel is expensive, but is a good value for points given convenient location in the city (for tourist-y activities!).

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Happy

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 2 nights in deluxe & upon phone confirmation assigned a Phantom Premier Room which I contested. Club upgrade confirmed after that. Booking done 1 night each in hubby's account & the other one in mine. Both of us PAmb.

What was your welcome gift?
Got 2 bottles of water, IC Chocolates for 2 days

Did you receive fruit in the room?
2 strawberries, a bunch of grapes & a loquat

How is the Club Lounge?
Up on 20+ floor, great views.
Nice & cozy. Plentiful drink & canape offerings from 5 PM but beware of getting there too late. An hour before closing they hardly had any canapes left.
They used to serve breakfast here too until after the Earthquake to abide by energy conservation measures

What was good ?
Rates (cheapest of all IC properties in Tokyo)
Location - lots of malls, restaurants, places to see, Chinatown, etc
Upgrade - Club access booking deluxe (cheapest rate)
Club Room- good eats, if you make it on time !
Turn down service & bath amenity replenishing
Efficient service
Received letter from Management acknowledging survey response

and what was bad
No special occasion recognition - Bday & anniversary celebration
No welcome letter

Value for or Priority Club Points?
Good

Would you return?
Yes

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel?
Very, exceptional service provided

- Which room did you book and which room did you receive?
Booked superior room, received deluxe room on club floor.

- How are the rooms?
Nice but not as nice as some other IC's

- How is the exec. lounge?
Wasn't included but looked very nice

- What was good and what was bad?
Good:
-extremely friendly service and staff
-very good location
-was offered all of the ambassador benefits even though it was a reward stay
-strawberries and bottled water in room free of charge
-nice extras such as B & O TV and Bose stereo in room

Not Bad but could be better:
-20 per person for breakfast is a bit steep even for London
-Room wasn't available at 11 AM (no problem with that) but bag left with concierge wasn't brought to room until we asked about it and although number was taken to call when room was ready we never did get a call to say it was now ready (again, not big issues but could be better)

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Absolutely, for reward stay brilliant! Not sure I would want to pay 600 for same room with cash though. Staff were exceptional and couldn't do enough for us.^

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Somewhat

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?Booked King Bed Deluxe (195euro) - Assigned Executive Corner Room 4th floor
Two paid days - two days on points (80K) (allowed to keep 'upgrade')

- How is the exec. lounge?
Supposedly a club floor, but was not offered

- What was good and what was bad?
Good:

Complimentary Breakfast for One Day of the four
Amenity: Lovely bottle of red wine, fruit, water
Location: Close to Old Town, River, and Castle
Clean room, nice enough view
Overall service (cleaning, turn-down service, spa, concierge) - Good

Bad:
Breakfast snafu: Would not carry over one of my complimentary breakfast to a points day when I couldn't use it.
Front desk personnel, for the most part professional, but could be a little short at times
Internet charges: outrageous - Sign-up page is very misleading - ended up paying 80euro/$115 for three days (thought I was signing up for a 695 CZK ThreeDay Package-turns out it was 695 each day for the three days-incredible scam!)

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I don't think so

IC One Thousand Island Lake Resort (Qiandaohu)

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

- Were you happy with the hotel?
Yes!!

- Which room did you book and which room did you receive?
Booked standard garden view AP, upgraded to Club Lake View (lounge closed during weekdays so given breakfast)

- How are the rooms?

-Beautifuly appointed, with hardwood floors.
-Smallish balcony with lounge area
-Couch inside with beautiful view
-Big, soft bed
-Spacious bathroom, separate bathtub, toilet, shower.
- The view from the rooms could be the most beautiful view I've seen in China (and I've been almost everywhere in China)

-How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- Upgrade. The lake view is the best part of this hotel - it makes the West Lake in Hangzhou look bad.
- Service was thorough
-Grounds include a bunch of walking trails and gardens, along with 3 pools, a gym, game rooms, restaurants
- Hotels is brand new, and is quiet. If this place ever becomes too popular with Chinese tourists, it might lose it's charm. In all Qiandaohu is relatively undeveloped, clean, and quiet.

Bad:
- Not much for dining options - the hotel options are overpriced and average. The remote location makes it hard to eat, so pack some food. There's a Chinese restaurant down the street serving local fish and chicken

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Yes! Highly recommended, and will write a report soon

What is your Priority Club status

Platinum ambassador

Were you happy with the hotel

Yes.Very

Which room did you book/receive

Booked Superior double suite. It was the same price as the Standard suite. Received the Superior suite.

How were the rooms.

Large living room with fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery. Well kept.

Two large screen HD tv's, table, 4 chairs, sofa...etc.

Ample closet space.

Asked for 7th floor room rather than 8th floor. The rooftop air conditioning system can be noisy for those on the 8th.

What was good/bad

Free wifi and breakfast for Ambassadors. Excellent breakfast buffet--otherwise $14 and still a good value.

Excellent service throughout from checkin to breakfast to departure.

The only drawback is its location. You need a car to attractions or restaurants. Almost entirely valet parking. That meant a lot of small tips if you wished to use the hotel as a point to change clothing, shower mid-day...etc.

Value

Saved the best for last. The weekend rate was $90.00---and remember that included wifi and a breakfast buffet.

Would you return

Yes. In a heartbeat.

It's a 600 mile drive for me, but Cleveland is home to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, great museums at University Circle, and a healthy rivalry with Toronto's baseball and basketball teams.

Were you happy with the hotel
No

Which room did you book/receive
Booked King Club which seemed good value. On check-in was told I had been upgraded but not on Club floor, moved instead to 9th floor a front water facing room.

How were the rooms.
Room was just ok - new but cramped. View was just ok. Received fruit+water (see below) on check-in.

My wife and I could only watch the tv from the bed and the sliding windows into the bathroom seemed ridiculous.

What was good/bad

Breakfast in lounge was decent and breakfast lounge staff efficient and pleasant. Decent hot and cold items and replenished often. Lounge drinks and snacks impressive.

Did not dine eleswhere in hotel.

Bad - faced difficultly in obtaining water. Was told there would be a charge. I pointed out we had booked a club room and that the lounge had run out of mineral water (which they had). Finally upon our return a bottle of Fiji water was waiting. I'm always surprised at how the HI/HIX and others are happy to provide free water and yet IC wants to nickel+dime you. The water issue however paled in comarison to the Daily $40 valet parking charge. To top it off - you have to retrieve your car yourself from the parking garage (how is that valet??).

Value

The extra $40 per day for parking - plus the attempted water charge (which did not appear on my final bill) I did not consider good value. The excuse about the parking being managed / operated by a 3rd party didn't do much to help me out. Was not happy about being moved to a non-club floor room which felt cramped.

Would you return

We are going back to Boston, but not to this IC. I'll either opt for an SPG / Hyatt or look at the HI Gardens. The thing about Hyatt and SPG top tier is that you are truly viewed and valued as top guests with all the benefits of comp lounge / breakfasts, best rooms and internet. I'm sure I'd pay for parking anywhere in Boston, but $40/day seems heinous.

I've got an IC TS stay coming up in a week (not driving to NYC) and will be interesting to note the comparison between these 2 locations.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 2 nights standard room and 1 night standard clubroom, upgraded to river view, only bad thing it was opposite lifts.

How are the rooms?
Fantastic view. Rooms quite small, bathroom very small for IC but room was clean and comfortable. If you did want to watch UK TV only news and sports channels.

How is the exec. lounge?
Used it the last day. Very good lounge, good flow of food (hot and cold)and drinks. Breakfast usual fruit, yoghurts, cheese , ham, hot food eggs, bacon and tomatoes. plenty for us.

What was your welcome gift?
Paprika, but dont think this was for Ambassador status, see below.

Did you receive fruit in the room?
No

What was good and what was bad?
Good

View, lounge

Bad

Small rooms
No recognition of Ambassador status, no daily water, no offer of newspaper. 1st night watched movie, was on bill on checkout. When said it should be free as an Ambassador they said they only had me down as Platinum, (would that of given me upgrade), but it was soon taken off the bill and also explains why i didnt receive Ambassodor perks.
