Prepaid meal plan rates as of Feb 2015 per post 1305: (breakfast price updated as of Jan 2020)
Breakfast: 4860 xpf (tax incl) per person per day
Half board (breakfast and a 3-courses dinner): 13 053 xpf (tax incl) per person per day
Full board (breakfast, a 2-courses lunch and a 3-courses dinner): 17 632 xpf (tax incl) per person per day.

Boat transfer from the Airport is not mandatory despite what any hotel emails might imply to the contrary. It's possible to take the free Air Tahiti shuttle to Vaitape (15 minutes), followed by a taxi to the IC Le Moana for 2000XPF (15 minutes), then the IC's shuttle between Le Moana and Thalasso for 3390 XPF per person one way (updated Dec 2019) (15 minutes). If all transfers go smoothly, the journey could be as short as an hour, or longer than two hours if you're unlucky.

Any kind soul help me how to go about booking OWB with the chase free night? I have 3 expiring March to be booked before that and I can travel there in June/July 2017. If I look now there is not a single night showing blue (available as chase free night) until August 2017. May be I am missing something? Would be a dream come true if I can do it.

Hey folks, just got back. Had a great trip to Bora Bora. Rained a little bit but the weather was nice for most of the activities we did. Snorkeled with the rays and sharks was an experience of a lifetime, I'm very lucky to have been able to done that.
A/C was out at the hotel which was a bummer but the hotel general manager met us upon arrival and gave me a great deal. I used 300,000 points to reserve the hotel for 6 nights. He gave me 150,000 points back (25,000 per night) and also gave us 20,000XPF per night as compensation which we used for meals and drinks. The weather was a bit cooler than normal and it rained at night a lot which kept the room fairly cool. Plus we had a couple floor fans.

Thanks for this info, as we are headed to Tahiti scheduled to arrive next Friday in bora bora. Informed last night of no AC and with not enough time to organise alternate accomodation. Hopefully it will still be bearable and enjoyable. They have offered us 40,000 xpf daily so that's something!

The no A/C thing really isn't a big deal. The bungalows have 2 ceiling fans and they will bring 1 floor fan which you can have blowing directly on you as you sleep at night.

40,000 XPF per day is pretty good offer; that's two people on full board with some spare change.
That said, I hope they offer some type of compensation when we are there later in the year when the major construction gets underway. I hope the banging noises are kept to a minimum whilst we enjoy $500 massages

Has anyone else experienced skin problems after using the outdoor hot tubs at the spa? I understand they use deep sea water for their various spa jetted pools, hot tubs and cold plunge. I never experienced any problems when using the cold pools such as the walk through therapy pool or cold plunge, but when I use the hot tubs I get a minor skin rash. I'm wondering if the biochemistry of the deep sea water changes when heated and if they aren't treating the water in the hot tubs to counteract organisms that could become an irritant in warm water (the deep sea water is naturally around 42F).
The skin irritation went away on it's own after a couple days. I know it came from the hot tubs which I used on 2 different days and both times experienced problems right after getting out of the tub. My skin itched and there were small red bumps. My wife doesn't have the same skin reactions as I do (I'm more sensitive to organisms that can cause rashes or bites). Maybe there's small insects in the water that bite me (bugs love biting me, but don't bother my wife).
I'll be returning this summer, but may stay clear of those hot tubs unless they are now being treated, but that defeats their purpose of natural I guess. These hot tubs are the ones that are semi-private with stone walls overlooking the small inlet lagoon in which the massage bungalows are over.

Can anyone confirm this? Everything I have read has indicated there have not been any cases in French Polynesia in 2016 (there was an outbreak in 2013-2014). It is not listed as a Zika location on the CDC website.
