it all depends....on board you may get better treatment in india since on board treatment in the us & europe is pretty much non-existent if you are traveling in economy....but for everything else the airlines in india are not up to the mark when it comes to their counterparts in the us & europe....

+1.

And even economy treatment in Y going downhill domestically on Jet...

Agreed 150% on this.

When queried with international call center supervisor - fare rules specifically state on particular Jet flights - no other options...

So they have full control in irrops that they can do what they want to and we can never re-route on other carriers voluntarily - even if we pay!

not entirely true. Jet may be not so frequent with it or open about it, but push them to the wall and they will do it. I've had an offer a couple of times from them. Last being a year and a half back when at Delhi they offered to endorse me over to SG due to a massive delay on one of their flights to BOM which i was booked on.

Oh, and I think I was silver/gold then. not Plat

Not sure if it still holds true.. Earlier, I frequently used to change and take earlier flight, on reaching airport early enough, but now I am refused, even if I am a plat..

In any case, I don't think it really matters which tier one holds these days. Jet is agnostic to membership status, and customer service is uniformly pathetic.

I think the problem with Jet is not the current level of service, but the way it has come down over last couple of years. If I travel in economy in US or Europe, I align my expectations accordingly and know what is coming. but in case of Jet, I am (or was) used to getting pampered, which is no more the case. So it may really be a case of over-expectation by people like me. Having said that, I experienced relatively bad quality of service in last couple of my international business class travels. Just hope those were exceptions.

tried finding out availability for awards from a website. there seems to be none while going outbound but inbound looks like there are 2 seats available. lets see what jet comes back to me with.

Their list of partners is expanding. Does not look good alliance wise.
