DEL-BOM-EWR adds 4+ hours to the trip. It doesn't matter how uncomfortable you think the CO seat is, that's terrible advice IMO. DEL-JFK adds an hour due to where the poster is going.
Get one of these and you won't have any problem with the seat. @:-)

or purchase a premium seat aka exit seats on CO

You don't seem to understand - the issue with CO is not the legroom, it is the fact that the seat is hard as a rock.
I would add 5 or 6 hours to avoid the seat, it's that bad.
Regardless, I suggest he flies LH into PHL anyway - PHL is much better suited for him to go to Dover than either EWR or JFK.

I agree with your suggestion about LH into PHL.

UA uses a different (much better) seat than CO. I would not hesitate to fly UA longhaul. I would strongly hesitate to fly CO.

And there are tons more, but wasting more than 5 minutes finding these posts seems excessive.
It's well documented that CO Y seats are like asking for aches for weeks...

Don't mean to be impolite, but have you driven a car outside India before? While traffic is organized and road rules are easy to follow in the US, the high speeds at which cars travel rattle many Indians when they first set foot in the US. Make sure you are comfortable driving in the US, especially after a long flight. If not, seriously consider alternatives like having a friend give you a ride.

no, it's probably right unfortunately.
Most domestic flights at that time of day are former AI flights, so they usually go into the international terminal.
However, if you have to transfer domestic terminal to international terminal, that just makes Lufthansa's case even stronger for your business...
