I looked at another option.. Taking an AI 127 to chicago and connecting with a Us airways flight to PHL... AI flight is B777-300ER and US flight is B737..

Any opinions and will i get to carry 2 pieces of baggage on US airways flight..

The return would then be by AI 101 from JFK

If on the same PNR, and US Airways is the second leg (from FRA/MUC-PHL), US will allow you to carry both pieces. However, on the return trip, where US is the first leg, you will only be allowed one piece at no marginal cost.

that itinerary would be AI 127 from delhi to chicago.. then US air to PHL. on the return leg it would be AI 102 jfk to del.. so US air being the first leg wont be an issue

i looked at two options.. del 127 to chicago and an American Eagle to PHL.. and return on AI102 jfk to del am getting it for $1312.. the layoveR is 1hour 30 minutes at chicago.. is it enough? And its from different terminals

The other being DEL to Chicago aon AI127 and connecting via US air and return on AI102.. this one is at $1352.. LAYOVER IS 2 HOURS 30 MINUTES

i found better deals on expedia than on orbitz

AND HOWS AMERICAN EAGLE COMPARED TO US AIR? AND DOES AMERICAN EAGLE HONOUR THE TWO BAG RULE?

Wats an Open Jaw ticket?

Not at all.. you have to clear immigration and customs ... and imm lines are at times very unpredictable..

Going hours out your way on a $1300 ticket to save a $50-75 extra bag fee seems short-sighted. But that's just me.

Via ORD is only 401 miles longer to PHL than via FRA. Probably adds no more than an hour. I'd probably choose two middle length flights over one forever flight and one short flight. Also flying on AI is probably a sacrifice of many miles.

This thread is all over the place.

First OP is concerned between EWR and JFK
Then OP moves focus to which airline is best quality between DEL and NYC
then OP is advised that all coach is approximately same and choose based on price.
Thread continues on to discuss various airlines and connecting airports
Then OP announces he actually wants to go to Dover, Delaware.
OP is advised to fly to PHL
Then OP replies that he wants to fly only to EWR or JFK
Then OP states he is looking for tickets to PHL
Then OP is advised to fly LH to PHL
Now OP does not want to fly LH to PHL because of $70 fee for second baggage piece.

OP is all over the place and this thread is a waste of 180 posts. Why is OP even buying a ticket now if flight is not until 9 months from now. Schedules are sure to change anyways. Not like this is an award ticket or some ridiculously low fare.

OP should just wait 6 more months and then buy the ticket with best combo of low fare and convenient schedule. I don't really see what is the point is buying now and I don't really see the point in debating the pros and cons of various carriers when OP seems fairly price conscious and will likely buy based on price and should not even buy for several months.

This thread is akin to me asking several internet users to debate buying a Rolex vs. buying a Tag and then six months later deciding to buy a Timex because it tells time well and does it at 5% of the price.
