Ladies and Gentlemen:

The new name for this forum is India-based Airlines ("IBA"). Neither the idea nor the decision to change it was mine, but it is a change I accept. I appreciate the passion some of you have expressed on the TalkBoard forum to keep the old name. It's nice to see you care about the small virtual community that exists on FT.

I don't believe there is any point in discussing the topic over and over. Our Director has spoken, and there will be no name changes. Hence I request you not to create posts here or open new threads on the topic. If you feel compelled to discuss the issue further, send me a PM; we can even chat about the topic over a cup of chai! I thank you for helping me out on this.

Please don't interpret this to mean I don't want your general input or feedback on ways to improve the forum. Your ideas are welcome either here or via PM.

You got general input and feedback, from a lot of members, all saying the same thing - change the name back. You ignored that feedback.

Our ideas may be welcome to your PM box, but if you aren't going to act on it, it's not particularly helpful, is it?

I accept the decision as at the end of their day its their website and that is what they have decided. With all due respect what I don't respect is the Communist attitude of your post. This is a chai stall where we can discuss what we feel like. Ok what has been done has been done we respect that but stopping us from talking about it on a thread which is meant for general chit chat is wrong.

I really did not see this coming from a professional website like FT. Its not like we are being racist or talking wrong about people.

I do hope you will reverse your opinion and allow free speech on this Forum. If someone opens a new thread or calls for a boycott that might be different and you can address that.

BTW Not that I wanna voice any further opinion on this as I now see the matter as being finished although I do feel strongly that if others wanna discuss it they should be allowed to.

Why confused? If a government says that they will do a policy change and then ban everyone from even talking about it in public is not communism then I don't know what is.
