by the time i got back to my friend on the minimum connection times, the fare had gone up by 300 dollars. from 1400 to 1700 for syd-bom return in a day. the way the fares rose, i would assume a lot of people are buying those tickets. will air india get lucky with australia?

I think that your friend might need a new travel agent. Availability is pretty wide open...

I spotted it last month, stored / parked at BOM-CSIA's apron that is on the left-side of the runway 14/32, towards the approach that's adjacent to Kurla.

Along with it were 4 more Airbus birds-sans engines, but surprisingly the 2 ATR's that were stored there since Oct-12 were no longer there.

Has this been grounded too? Can the leasing companies not take this one back?

Huh, interesting. I was looking at the reverse - AI is pricing SYD-BOM rt at nearly double what they are charging for BOM-SYD rt. I guess 1700 isn't a bad deal after all.

Go to this link: http://dgca.nic.in/caris/know_ind.htm and search for VT-VJM.
It reads:

OWNER:
CJ LEASING (CAYMAN) LTD
WALKER HOUSE,
87 MARY STREET,
GEORGE TOWN KY1-9002
GRAND CAYMAN

FYI:
Code:

1. "CJ" in the "CJ LEASING (CAYMAN) LTD" stands for "Corporate Jet"
2. "Walker House" is a place that is entirely owned by a company named "WALKER SPV LIMITED", who specialise in providing "fiduciary services" in "Offshore Tax Heavens".

I think this is more than the permissible limit, of what can be published openly in the public domain.

The two former KFA A332 which were parked in ZRH were ferried by LHT to MLA and are getting a end of lease inspection before being ready for the next lease, if any. It seems they are in a very sad state. Owned by Dubai Aviation.

What seat do you prefer on the 77W in Jet Premiere . I normally like to go for the last row as that gives you more elbow room when seat is down but then you are behind 50 people at immigration and last to get served on the flight too.

Anyone know what happened to VM's private KF plane?

An Update as of last Saturday:

There are a total of 6 aircraft parked at that exact same spot, I mentioned in my previous post.

The first is VT-VJM, adjacent to which seems to be an A319/320 in KF colours. Towards the other end of the apron, are 2 more Airbus birds (also in KF colours) possibly A320/A321's, as they appeared to be slightly larger than VT-VJM.

Also spotted an ATR turboprop and another aircraft (non-turboprop & non-Airbus) in KF colours. I assume it to be VP-CUB, a Gulfstream II aircraft, which was VJM's prized jet, until the ACJ arrived.

That leaves VJM's only last bird, i.e: N727VJ free. Anyone know its where abouts..?

PS: All aircraft appear to have their engines attached and covered.

am trying to book a ticket and used the itasoftware to search for fares. its showing me a fare for 473 nzd and in K class. however, i called up a travel agency and asked them for K class and they say that its not available. i checked expertflyer and even there it shows that K class has zero seats. am wondering how is ita still showing the availability. i even changed the sales city to mumbai and still the same price is being shown. i even used tripadvisor to book and there though the fare does get quoted the moment i click on it it says fare has increased and the fare ends up doubling. is there any where i can book this ticket at the price mentioned by ita?

oliver2002 Jul 23, 2013 3:10 pm

ITA uses a cache and is often tricked by airlines into displaying lower fares. Before giving up, try a US based OTA like expedia.com or orbitz, which use the same source as ITA. If you PM me the date I can check if I see K in the German market.

HMPS Jul 23, 2013 3:17 pm

ITA and FTers do advise to mark down fare codes and quote those to the TAs or airlines.

On the topic of ITA Matrix, I heard that it can be used to find published fares. Can someone tell me how to do it? One tip I got was to uncheck the "Only show flights and prices with available seats". I get a list of flights, but is that compehensive? Are all of those flights published fares and not constructed fares?
