Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

If he is a trial Diamond member and his status expires earlier, I could imagine that the four e-upgrades are not in his account anymore...and, IMO, rightfully so....

There is no post about Park Hyatt Tokyo yet. I was origionally given the Park View Room, which I know while bigger than Deluxe room is no way a suite. So I had to insist to get a confirmed upgrade to Park Suite from Res agent. Anyone with any similar experience @ PHT?

Grand Hyatt New York

1. GH NYC
2. Junior Suite

I am not sure if all of these Junior suites face inward, but you really get a claustrophobic feeling. We were lucky to look through the windows even though it was dark - you only see the hotel. The suite had 450 sq ft and had what looked like a second narrow room with a second TV and a sofa, but the layout was really weird and the bathroom was very small (there was a shower stall). Went down and exchanged to a small Lexington Suite. This was much better - view to the east and the Chrysler Building, although smaller, but more sensible design - basically one large room (looked like one of the largest on the floorplan) with the seating area on one side, TV in the middle - can rotate from the bed to the sofa 180 degrees, same small bathroom (with the tub) and pretty large closet.
3. 360
4. Studio
5. C
6. see 2. You need to request a coffee maker; a fridge costs 25$ per stay; there is no paper and pens in this hotel..........

Question What about suite upgrades for stays after 2/2010?

I am wondering how these automatic suite upgrades work if you have a stay planned next spring. My suite upgrades expire 2/2010 and I've been told I won't get any with a later expiration until 2/2010, even if I requalify early. That means I can't confirm a suite upgrade until the new certificates are in my account. Has anyone been successful in getting a suite upgrade for a date in March or later? If so, how?

BTW, I just got notification from the Grand Hyatt San Antonio that I've been upgraded to a Grand Suite for our upcoming stay, and I didn't even request any upgrades. Being new to Diamond, I am curious if how often this happens.

Am I reading correctly that your "suite" was 360 sq ft? Did you use a suite upgrade cert or points to get it? Or was it your diamond upgrade? I would have been very disappointed if this is all I got for a supported upgrade.

We used one of the 4 diamond upgrades, and were told only Junior Suites qualify. Lexington Suite while smaller is infinitely nicer because of the view onto the east midtown rather than hotel inner courtyard walls.

1. Park Hyatt Saigon

2. Park Suite King

3. 70sqm (~700sqft)

4. 1 Br 1 Ba

5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it?
Great hotel and excellent upgrade. Beautiful room. Clearly deserves an A.

6. Great breakfast, great overall value! An oasis of calm in hectic Saigon. This place definitely deserves a place on the list of PHs that "get it."

Priceline?

I hope this is the right thread to post this in, I've been trying to search and this seems to be the best place.

I've got two Priceline stays coming up on Hyatt Regency and would like to use my Diamond upgrades on those. However GP customer service tells me that Priceline stays are ineligible for upgrades. Is this correct? Can I perhaps request it with the hotel directly?

The T&C doesn't say anything about some rates not qualifying:

Terms and Conditions

Upgrade award is valid 4/2/2009 to 2/28/2010 at participating Hyatt Hotels & Resorts worldwide where suite accommodations are available for up to seven (7) consecutive nights. Offer is not valid at Hyatt Place or Hyatt Summerfield Suites. All hotel reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance by calling 800 400-2261 or your nearest Worldwide Reservation Centre. Upgrade may not be combined with other promotional offers. One upgrade per award, per stay, regardless of the number of rooms. Upgrade is subject to availability and a confirmation will be provided at time of reservation. For purpose of this upgrade award, a suite provides for one-bedroom accommodations. Award not valid for specialty suites as defined by each hotel. Additional guests may be subject to additional hotel charges. Hyatt reserves the right to alter or withdraw this program at any time without notice. The agent is right as per Program T&C.

8. Diamond members will be issued four (4) suite upgrade awards, in their account, annually, defined as March 1st of the current year through the last day of February of the following year, Awards can be tracked through "My Promotional Awards" on goldpassport.com. A complimentary suite upgrade is valid on paid nights, for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights, at participating Hyatt hotels where suite accommodations are available. Suite upgrade awards must be redeemed at time of reservation. Member must call 800.400.2261 or their nearest worldwide reservation center to redeem upgrade award. Upgrade not available at Hyatt Place, Hyatt Summerfield Suites or Hyatt Vacation Club Resorts. Guest must pay an eligible rate. For purposes of this award, a suite provides for one-bedroom accommodations. Suite upgrade award is not valid toward Specialty, Premier, Presidential or Diplomatic Suites. Absolutely wonderful suite with beautiful view, enormous bathroom with jacuzzi tub, separate shower and even a TV. Living area easily accommodated 2 rollaway beds. Fantastic upgrade from a $300/night Limited Time Offer garden view room!
I have the same confirmation for Nov on a AAA rate ($273). The ocean suite is my favorite layout.

I originally had it booked on points, but at these prices, it was crazy not to pay for most of the stay + the suite upgrade and use points for the balance.

Now if they will only give me my favorite location of this one
