Award stays DO count for the Trial challenge. I just sent my Hilton stmt. in with my request and was approved. I did have a paid stay too, w/in the last 12 months, but could only go back 6 months on the Hilton site. Hyatt is very generous. Kudos to them.

No stays on Hilton

I am Hilton Gold through the Citicard, but I don't have any stays on Hilton YTD.

I used UR for some P+C on upcoming travel at Hyatt.

Will they give the comp status to Diamond, without the Hilton Stays...will they examine carefully my stays and upcoming travel and base their judgement that way?

Regards,

This has been answered over two dozen times in thread and in the Wiki. You must have a stay at Hilton within the last 12 months in order to be eligible for the status match.

Dear FTers,
I have 3 question about the trial. I emailed them asking for a trial started in Nov as my first stay will be in mid-Nov, they agreed and asking me to reply the email one day before the planned stay date to enroll in the trial.
So my question is:
1. If I reply the email eariler, asking some other question, will the system automaticlly enroll me in the trial upon my reply? or they will handle it manually, thus, keep my trial start date from mid-Nov and answer my other question.
2. How can I book the My Elite Rate before my trial start date? for example, I want to book a stay in mid-Nov now, but as I am not Diamond yet, can I still book one using the code, and just to prove my diamond status when I check in?
3. If I do reply the email one day before my planned stay, can they still act fast enough to ensure I got my diamond status/benefits during my stay?

Thanks a lot!

Send the mail at least 3 work days before your first stay.... the day before is cutting it too close.

You won't be ably to use the MER before your status has been changed (and your trial has started). But you might be able to cancel your existing reservation and replace it with MER wham that is still available at the time.

The only way to get instant Hyatt status as the OP had hoped would be apply for the Hyatt Visa card and then status would Platinum for the year (equivalent to HH Gold)

I have been following this thread for several months now and was surprised to read the post from applelover2 indicating that agreement had been secured from Hyatt to start a Diamond challenge in November. The general consensus in the posts I have read was that one could not set a date for the challenge.
If setting a future date is now possible I would also do this as I have a lot of stays scheduled in November and December.
Would be interested in any feedback, particularly if the Gold Passport Concierge was able to comment.

Pierre, I think this has always been an option. When I did the Diamond Challenge earlier this year, I was able to set my start date.

Note that you have to notify them via email to start the challenge, it is not automatic. And that assumes that the terms of the challenge do not change by then (nothing is expected but could happen). There is not a function for GP to start the challenge in the future. I would personally advise that the email to them be sent probably about 3 days before the stay so you have time to correct any problems that may arise.

You cannot schedule the start for a Diamond challenge. But they do give you the offer to accept the challenge by replying to their e-mail. It's then up to you to do the scheduling of that e-mail and it could be (but it's unlikely) that the challenge has changed.
But do it at least a few days before actually staying since it can take a few days before your status has been changed.....

So I have 5 nights coming up at various high-end Hyatt properties... 4 award, 1 paid.

I don't think I'd complete the challenge, but am I crazy to attempt it just for free breakfast?

Crazy? Not necessarily.

Unethical? Yes.

I hope you're trolling just to bug the crackers out of me. If that's the case, you've succeeded.

Aradisc, she may just mean it's unethical b/c you forgot to mention how you plan to exploit the DSU certificates and it's definitely unethical to just leave those on the table.
And yes I am just trying to bug your crackers.

Does the challenge work on stays paid for with Expedia?
