But i'd +1 the posters who said that you should expect to pay a resort fee and be happy if its waived for whatever reason. I wish the hotels just stuck the fees it into the room rate but then that's bad marketing from their point of view as you'd see what you are really paying.
You should try em. At different times and for different properties each one of those sites can be awesome. The BA site especially makes it very clear at which properties you will not be paying the resort fee. No reason to 'expect to pay a resort fee' there. With Travelpony I'd recommend calling in to find out what extras are included with the rate. No idea why for instance our 1 night booking at PH included a $25 dining credit and no resort fee but you could only know that beforehand if you called and asked.

What is a 'casino rate?' Do you mean a rate offered through a players program?

i'll look at those sites in the future. I did just stay at a casino booked direct via MLife and got a rate better than I could get anywhere else plus I got Hyatt points for the stay as Mlife casinos and Hyatt area point partners.

i usually look at Kayak, expedia, bookit and the hotel's own site.

Yes for a casino rate I mean offered via the player programs. However, its not the same as getting some sort of 20% off code for a casino - these are the special rates that only players get offered and many times you have to call to book. Note - I really don't gamble much at all yet have been getting 2 night comp offers for the Cosmo (for sun - thurs nights) for a year now for whatever reason. Also rates for like $19 for the Hard Rock and Palms on weeknights. Taken advantage of the Cosmo comp nights a few times already

Thanks! This worked for me today! However I couldn't register by connecting to facebook. Kept getting an error. I redid it using my email address and no issues.

Planning a 1 day trip to LA in August so looking for the best deal I can find. (Part of a 7 day trip to west coast so already spending enough money)

Stays for 18$/night at The Quad for Total Rewards members. Mon-wed only. Sampled weeks in July and August. Keep in mind there are resort fees around 20$ a night.

It’s not my first time to LAS, however it’s our first time having a group (4 friends) going together.
Our tentative plan/homework that I’ve done up to this point is… fly out from Bellingham instead of YVR on Alligiant which put our flights at $200 per person instead of $400 each.
Now as for the hotel… I’ve looked up Planet Hollywood one room 2 queen beds for 3 nights from Aug 7-10 comes to $444 with promo code.
It works to $200 flights + ($444 divided by 4 girls) = $311 per person

I was wondering, if anybody has a better way to do this or knows of better deals?
Of course, who doesn’t want a 5 star hotel with a nice pool… however we are aiming to around $400 per person. And this $311 is much within range. Does anybody kindly has other options or know of better deals on just the hotel for 4 girls? We don’t mind dishing out a wee bit more if it gets us somewhere better. Thanks!

Have you tried Hotwire? Also, sometime Orbitz, Cheaptickets, Travelocity have good deals when you book airplane with hotel. We saved a lot from Orbitz for a recent trip with the combo plus a $150 off promotion code.

I fly allegiant too and it's always better to book separately. They rip you off on the hotels. Have you tried the promo codes at www.mycheapvegas.com or have you considered the Royal Offer that was posted before?

Are the royal rates eligible for me to still earn all my M Life platinum perks and Hyatt points?

Hoping to get some help from experience here. When i called mLife line/VIP services at Vdara (or a couple other hotels too) they said they didn't care about occupancy numbers.

Does that mean booking with mlife I wont' get charged extra for 4 people staying in a room compared to booking directly through hotel where there's an additional fee per person per night?? My fear is I'll show up and ask for four keys and the hotel will charge me extra on top of my mlife rate even though mlife didn't care/ask about number of people.

Thoughts/insight?

Thanks in advance!

The British Airways site has a great rate on Planet Hollywood for early next year, but it also says:

"Prices do not include the Internet, Fitness centre access or unlimited local & toll free phone calls. An optional resort fee is offered at check in if guests wish to use these facilities whilst in resort."

I've read other reports that PH enforces resort fees, but does booking through the BA site let me off the hook somehow?

I noticed on the Royal Offer, it states that you must be a member of "Exclusive offer for Crown & Anchor Society Member".

Do they check or how strict are they? I remember last year they didn't have this fine print but this year they do.

There are a number of booking sites that offer or have offered PH with no resort fee; BA, Travelpony, Westjet, ThomasCook, hotelbeds, etc. For guests who book via other methods it's mandatory. I stayed last month booking via Travelpony, desk clerk never mentioned the resort fee and I was not charged it. If you are worried about it you can email the hotel and get written confirmation if the person answering the email is competent enough to get you the right info.
