Dear libuser,

Thank you for contacting Booking.com.

With reference to the previous email sent to you on 2011-05-18, it is stated that If we have not received
any response by 2011-05-27 we will assume the matter has been dealt with satisfactorily and your
booking will be confirmed at the discounted rate of USD171 per room per night.

As we did not receive any response from you, we have therefore taken the liberty to amend the rates
of your reservation.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

We have mediated on your behalf regarding the rates that were incorrectly loaded by the hotel and the hotel is now offering a 60% discount.

The room rate for your reservation would be USD68.40 per room per night.

Please understand that the Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali is a five star property participating in our Preferred Hotels program due to its high Customer Review scores and level of service. Their normal rates for the dates you booked would be US171 per room per night. The offer that is being presented to you, although we do appreciate it is not what you expected, is indeed an excellent opportunity to stay in a luxury facility at an exceptional price. We would like to respectfully emphasize that this offer has been tailor-made for you, as a way of apologizing for the misleading information that the hotel accidentally posted on our website.
Again, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope you will accept the hotel's offer.
We seek for your kind understanding to indicate your acceptance of this exceptional price by Friday, 3rd June 2011.

If we have not received any response by this date we will assume the matter has been dealt with satisfactorily and your booking will be confirmed at the discounted rate of USD68.40 per room per night.

We look forward to your reply and truly hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.
Kind Regards,

---

Wow, great price. Been there 4 or 5 times and for that money I'd book it again in a heartbeat. Excellent hotel!

That is a helpful voice of experience.
Of course, some have already negotiated it down to 70% off (not me).

I don't think the phrase "We have mediated on your behalf"
was included in my original booking.com response, maybe.
In any case, I will ask one of the IHG HQ's,
rather than booking.com or hotel GM, for a response.

Americas office
InterContinental Hotels Group
3 Ravinia Drive, Suite 100
Atlanta, Georgia 30346-2149

I am still searching for name/email
of a specific CS person at US HQ to address.
Booking.com doesn't seem to wan't to give me that.

It really is a great hotel and I prefer it in many ways to the IC on Bali. It is closer to where 'the action' is. F&B is much better than the IC and in the Kuta general area this is my favourite hotel. F&F rate is around $150 so at $68 that is great. Don't forget that you have to pay 21% tax on that rate. That is standard in Bali.

And in my booking it's just left 10$ price, although they told me, they will change it.
Should just leave it as it is or is it better to discuss it with booking.com?

I've continued to write back that I think the hotel should honor the originally quoted rate and haven't seen my bookings change from the $10/day yet. Just received an email from them:

Thank you for contacting Booking.com, we apologise for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

At Booking.com we take all of our customers concerns seriously. Please allow us 7 days to fully investigate your complaint. We have contacted Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali directly, and hope to find a satisfactory conclusion as soon as possible.

We will keep you informed of any new developments.

Once again thank you for contacting Booking.com. We will do our best to help resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Kind regards,

witam,

OK, now we are approaching a reasonable price point.
Roughly Pointbreaks level when you add 21% tax.

Does anyone know:

1) Would we earn PC points for booking.com stays ?
2) Is there any way to import these reservation into Priority Club listings?

Thanks in advance.

Regarding the 21% taxes:

My booking clearly states:

"11 % TAX is included.
A city tax is not applicable.
10 % service charge is included."

1) No, but you earn PC points on extra spendings (e.g. food or spa treatment). And sometimes even non-qualified rates count for PC promos.

2) Yes, email GM and ask to link it with your PCR#. I always do it with my priceline stays.

I see that they are actually getting their act together: I have made multiple non-refnd reservations for about two weeks in Feb. Earlier, they have sent me separate emails for each reservation, but today they have merged all of them into one.

Good info, thanks !
Yes, they have referenced my different res's in one,
in the latest e-mails.

I am thinking $25 is do-able, but don't tell anybody.
$10 would make a better story in the distant future, though !
