Some people who don't have experience with these type of deals should just sit on their hands, as they don't understand how they work.

Mine still quotes $170/nt, but I have never made contact.

Has Booking.com only 'mediated' for those who have emailed, or will they restore all bookings?

I too got the confirmation for the $10/nite bookings. Very happy now that I have my Chinese New Year plan out of the way.

You should certainly be entitled to take the room at the price you booked at. I'd give it a day, and then email them about it. Might take them awhile to get out to all the folks who booked. My emails showed up 3 minutes apart.

If someone is just going to use part of their reservation, let me know, if it's in February. I might have a few relatives who want to go while I'm there, so looking at some options.

I guess I will use all 3 rooms booked for February simultaneously, as all reservations have my name only.

I'll be there from the beginning of Feb for three weeks. If your dates fall in that range, I might be able to use 1-2 rooms.

Well, I have friends who are willing to go, but now I'm not sure what to think, because booking.com states that the change of guest name is not allowed, and I have 3 rooms for the same (mine) guest name (I just booked them all using my CC and didn't know which friends will be available).

I am guessing if YOU are there, it will work.
If you are NOT there to check in/check out, I doubt it will work.

OK, but the rates are based on double occupancy. Does that mean that

a) I will be checked in to 3 rooms (so me + 3 friends); or
b) I will be checked in to 1 room and have 6 places available (me + 5 friends)

I'm confused

You could e-mail Mr. Varoquier GM at Baruna,
or wait and see what reports eventually get posted here.
But that will be a long long time in the future.... @:-)
