This not withstanding, US171.00++ is way above the odds for this hotel. I paid US$81.00++ in April.

If its not a local (or kitas holder) rate or a Nyepi promo, it looks like a very good deal to me.

Its tough trying to get something 'decent' for less than USD150 in Bali these days.

Bah, plenty of reasonable deals if you look around.

I also requested to cancel my one NR res,
and they came back and offered a 30% discount off the rate,
i.e. $838 instead of $70 for the week. No sale.

I'll likely just cancel it next week, and keep my cancellable ones
until "up to 4 days before date of arrival" next March !!

Dear MrHalliday,

We have received your reply, in view of this mistake, the hotel is now offering a 30% discount. The total room charges for your reservation would be USD837.90. However unfortunately no further compensation is being offered to you. We sincerely apologize on behalf of the hotel for the incorrect room rates indicated. We seek for your kind understanding to indicate your acceptance of this one time rate tailored specially for you. Alternatively, please confirm if you would like to cancel this reservation without any penalty or compensation.

I am also going to ask them for email of someone to contact at IHG HQ.
We'll see if they go along.

I believe the Regional Director Finance Southern Asia & Korea
IHG (and the GM of the hotel in question) is Stephane Varoquier (residing in Singapore). You can easily find some contact info on twitter/facebook.

Good Luck! I hope that the Hotel G scenario will be repeated

The 30% "discount" is actually higher than the best available rate on the IHG website.

Ah yes, I saw the Stephane contact listed
on the hotels "contact us" page yesterday.
....GM in Kuta, yet resides in SQ... @:-)

In my case, I am going to wait a bit,
so they can have their crisis meetings,
before sending any messages.

It's not 1 baht per night,
so $70 a week still sounds about right to me.

Ok, so it looks like it is indeed the hotel that denies this rate. I guess we should attack on the PC/IHG front then, especially those with high status at PCR/Ambassador. 30% "discount" have been also reported at other forums.

Instead of making a sweeping statement like this, it would be more useful if you could actually name deals which can be booked and honoured for the coming months .....

I wrote to booking.com and got 30% off that I am not accepting, of course.
Curious, whether everyone in the same boat can still see their rates of 10usd under "my booking"?
