In accordance with the terms and conditions of Hilton HHonors:
Members who do not have eligible activity as defined in a. - d. below in any 24 consecutive month period may be removed from the Program and are subject to forfeiture of all accumulated Points. At the discretion of Hilton Honors, such Members may be permitted to remain in the Program and removed after five years of inactivity. To keep accumulated Hilton Honors Points, the Member must take one of the following actions within a 24 consecutive month period:

Just to ease your mind a little. Nov. 1 is almost 2 months away, not 30 days. And if you don't plan on doing any stays with Hilton are the <7000 points worth the stress to you to keep them active? You did say you don't want to do a stay to keep them active.

If I was you I would apply for either the HH Visa or amex card (I assume you have neither). Once you get it (apply by phone or online) use it not only will you get 10,000 pts for getting the card you can round up your total pts by using it sure 1 pt per $1 aint great but this way you can up to 20,000 and then cash em in. These cards dont have an annual fee so no direct cost involved.
Any other means will let you retain your pts but you'll only be back in the same position again, my way you'll be able to use them pretty quick.

Help with Mattress Run to save expiring points!
I have over 170,000 points with HHonors which are going to expire unless I stay at a Hilton property or earn partner miles by Nov. 1.
Does anyone know what the best way to find CHEAP points-earning rates for hilton properties in the Atlanta area? I have searched the Hilton website and come up with nothing under $75. I can "stay" any night between now and Oct 31. Doesn't matter what night or what location, since I will only be going there to check in and check out and not actually staying there.

I wasn't confident that buying points online would count towards extending the expiration date. So, I called HHonors and asked what my options were and if the points actually had to be in the account by Nov. 1 or just the points-earning activity had to be completed by then.
A very nice lady offered to extend my exiration date until January 2006. So, I'll just have to make sure I stay with Hilton more often in the next year.

The Hilton American Express card has no annual fee. I use mine every six months or so at Costco to buy vintage port, when I visit my sister in California.

Wow, a definite ^ to FT on this one! I was in the same boat as the OP until I found this thread, called HH, and got a similar extension. Very nice, as I'm driving cross-country soon, and will be sure to stay at a Hampton or two along the way now.
