You will receive paper award certificates from Delta that you will have to mail to HHonors for credit.

I just transfered Delta SkyMiles to Hilton.
The Delta agents dit NOT know that this is possible. It took me several calls.
I finally got the voucher. They are 5,000, 10,000, 15,000 ....
4 days to get the vouchers. It took only 10 days for Hiton to post the points.

Exerpts of my e-mails:
I called 1-888-750-3284 AND 1-800-323-2323. They could NOT help me. I even was told that it is not possible.

I found this in Hilton's website:
"Delta Air Lines: Follow normal SkyMiles. award redemption procedures
via mail. Delta will then issue an award certificate for the appropriate
number of HHonors points. Send the Delta award certificate to the
HHonors Customer Service Center nearest you and the HHonors points will
be posted to your HHonors account."

Thanks for the info, after posting my question I did find the info on the Delta forum, I went back to edit my post and the board was down for maintenance. I called Delta, the lady I spoke to knew exactly what I was talking about and was very helpful.

I had 22.5K orphan points (most of them from the early 80's)on UAL transfered 20K to 40 K Hilton I have temporarily listed UAL as my Air partner to bump the remaining 2500 up to 5000 to do another transfer.

Need 10,000 points
Thanks to United's handling of a flight from Washington to London, my stays at two Hilton properties were cancelled. This means I'm about 10,000 pts short of an award level I'm seeking. I'm assuming that applying for an AmEx card is the easiest way to get the points, but are there any other quick fixes?

Buy 'em
10k points = $125
Not the cheapest but its the quickest fix I can think of.

Call HHonors and ask nicely. They can gift you points at their discretion (I got ~100 points for free when my wife's account was in need).
