As a Diamond, are you guaranteed Lounge access regardless of whether I get an upgrade or not? I just made a reservation directly with the hotel and in their confirmation they tell me "Regarding your request for non smoking, upgrade to executive lounge, we are very sorry that we are unable to confirm them upon reservation stage." when I asked them to confirm that I will receive lounge access as Diamond.

Yes. Maybe they read your request as "executive level," which is not guaranteed IIRC, although the line you quote definitely says "lounge."

Also remember that lounge access is only guaranteed if that is the MyWay choice you have selected. The upgrade to the exec floor is conditional based on availability and is never done at time of booking, basically only at check-in.

I've found no discernible difference between the exec floor rooms and the standard ones at this hotel.

AXON reward is applicable if there are reward space (for 4 nights) is available at the hotel.

I've used AXON reward at this hotel multiple times, recall even times there were no reward spaces some nights during my stay. Diamond desk will need to send request to the hotel if hotel can accommodate.

I've used AXON awards at this hotel - just like any other award to them, and I have been well-treated as a Diamond whether on AXON award or any other stay method (Exec Lounge access, etc.)

$85,893.33 Folio at Conrad Tokyo and only 500,000 Points?!?!

Yes, that's US$, not Yen. Oh well, it was only a six night award stay.

Our actual folio was only $800, but I did not get the correct 40,000 points. So I called and the DD opened a case. The result of the case was 500,000 points on a folio of $85K+, not the 40,000 I expected:

2010 Q4 SYSTEMWIDE OFFER - QUAD POINTS - Conrad Tokyo 300,000
Base Points - Conrad Tokyo 100,000
DIAMOND VIP BONUS - 50% 2010 - Conrad Tokyo 50,000
50% BONUS ON BASE POINTS - Conrad Tokyo 50,000

I savored the 500,000 points for a few hours before calling in and getting it rectified. Clearly someone screwed up the currency conversion big time.

I was shortchanged on points so I called and the DD opened a case. Above was the result of their investigation. I savored it for a few hours before calling in and getting it rectified. Clearly someone screwed up the currency conversion big time.
Nope, as far as I know 500k is the maximum amount of points you can earn for a meeting and 100k for room costs. Correct me if I am wrong. Sorry!

Actually it looks like they applied the limit of 100,000 base points per stay that is contained in the T & C's to the incorrect folio amount.
11.Members may not accrue more than 100,000 Base Points during one stay, regardless of the amount of eligible folio charges, except for Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Qasr Al Sharq (a member of The Waldorf Astoria) hotels for which there is no cap.

Please help me understand if I got this right: you got 500.000 points by mistake, and you called HH to rectify the error, and to restore your rightful 40.000 points?

You have my respect on that one, really not sure what I would have done

Yes, that's correct. Guess my post wasn't as clear as I thought it was.

I thought for a bit about what would happen if I just kept them, but I suspected HH would have caught it. I got a some goodwill points from HH for calling.

I think it was a good idea to call them because Hilton might take the points out of his account sometime in the future when they audit them. (Actually, they may take points out anyways since they have not corrected their mistake.)

Definitely looks like somebody screwed up on the conversion. I would be the hotel would have caught that as it would probably stick out in what they have to pay for the points but who knows. I would have called as well as that is just too big of a mistake. A few thougsand points...whatever but 460,000 is too significant.
