There are currently very cheap one way rentals from the NYC area to Florida south of I-4 (Tampa, Orlando, Miami, etc). Rent from a city location for a lower tax rate. Hertz probably has too many cars in NYC and they need more in Florida. As the people and the birds fly south for the winter, the cars need to be driven south.

Delta Code works well at LAX
I haven't been able to get a mid-week rental price at LAX below $55/day during Dec 10-13 using AAA or any other code that I could find. Today, I received an email from Delta with a CDP and Promotion code that got me a $41/day rate on a Ford Focus. I'll also be getting a bunch of Delta SkyMiles.

Hope that this is useful. You need to make sure that your Delta number is in the reservation if you want the SkyMiles. (I default to Hertz points.)

Use PC 151336 on the AAA Hertz booking page and the rate goes up a little to $35.60 per day but it takes $5 off per day giving you a rate of $30.60 per day.

Guys - I'm using 3 free day vouchers to pay for an international reservation. Does CDP really matter in this case? Can I simply pluck a CDP off these threads or should I use the AAA CDP? Don't know if hertz verifies your corporate ID card with CDP's posted here.

It's up to the agent to check for CDP eligibility. Usually they don't but it's down to the specific agent (and sometimes the location manager).
Don't know anything about Aruba in particular but back in 04 we got a Suzuki Jimny from them
