Thanks!
The 3 : 1 ratio is very good and like a continuous promotion. I have not seen a better ratio in the past years.

What is booking class H for a value ticket that earns 12000 points (150%) for a long-haul segment? Never encountered this before.

With Finnair, H is the "lowest" of the Pro ticket type booking classes. It cannot be purchased as a Value ticket type.

Any recent reports on using upgrade vouchers for flights flown by someone else? I think I saw a report that the online tool doesn't care, but as I need to do the 4 SH->1 LH (from the gold card I gave away), I think we need to go through CS.

Most likely you need to ask the call center to do it.

What if you just called CS, asked for the 4 SH -> 1 LH transfer and then processed the upgrade online? It's not said that you have to use the LH voucher immediately.

You get AY+ award and tier points for all AY-marketed flights, regardless of ticket issuer and operating carrier.

ITA easily finds prices in the €300 range, not a bargain either but considerably less than €450. Requires a 3 night stay.

Domestic flights in Finland are very expensive and there is little competition. OUL is an exception and not too far from RVN – perhaps you could consider flying there instead, especially if you plan to rent a car.

Norwegian flies to RVN, as well, so you might want to check their prices.

The price for RVN around Christmas is not going to plummet any time soon. On Matrix I see Norwegian is selling RVN routed through LGW and equally expensive.

Do you need separte ticket for HEL-RVN? If you come intercontinental (or even ex-EU) inbound, adding this segment mught be very much cheaper than separate tix.

Also there are huge number of international charters to Lapland and RVN in December - last year 5-6 per day to RVN alone.

Yes, I need separate from HEL-RVN RT. Norwegian even much higher than AY.

Should I book it now , wait until they open up reward . The seat availability seems risky for me .

But why should AY open up award space if they are very likely selling the seats for good money anyway?
