AFAICT, QR is the only A380 operator present at HEL, and I suppose they'd rather increase frequencies toward double daily than upgauge to A380.

I think what they do is make enough room for one (1) A380 at gate 49 (last gate of west wing) and if someone wants to operate A380 on HEL, they will solve the problem at that time.
And theoretically, can't you board/deplane using downstairs doors only?

Anyway, gates are 2 floors already as they are separating arrivals and departing pax that way, but jetbridges are meant to connect to "1.st floor", only inside the ramp does arrivals go upstairs

Finnair Plc Stock Exchange Release 8 September 2017 at 11:55
Following the good performance in the summer months Finnair raises its
guidance for 2017 regarding its comparable operating result and
specifies its capacity forecast for 2017 as outlined below.
New guidance
Finnair estimates that in 2017 its capacity will grow approximately 9
per cent, weighted strongly towards the second half of the year.
Full-year revenue is expected to grow approximately in line with
capacity.
Finnair expects its comparable operating result for 2017 to be in the
range of 135-155 million euro (2016: 55 million euro), if current
fuel prices and exchange rates prevail and assuming no material
changes in business environment.
Previous guidance (issued on 20 July 2017)
The demand outlook for passenger and cargo traffic in Finnairs main
markets continues to involve uncertainty. Finnair reiterates its
previous estimate that, in 2017, due to the fleet renewal and
introduction of new aircraft, its capacity will grow 8-10 per cent,
weighted strongly towards the second half of 2017. Full-year revenue
is expected to grow approximately in line with capacity.
At current fuel prices and exchange rates, Finnair expects its
comparable operating result for 2017 to broadly double year-on-year
(2016: 55 million euro).

Does anyone have a suggestion where you can start, flying AY, if you want to end in ARN?
CPH-ARN isn't sold by finnair.com even though there is a C fare filed at 2160€ (!). For a oneway, third party sites offer to book in Y at 1100€. I can of course redeem a o/w in J for 29€ - making this the worlds best redemption value - but I wanted to fly revenue.
BA is happy to fly me to ARN via LHR, BCN or MAD but AY apparently decided the HEL detour is "too much" for flyers. So my question is, from what origins is it possible to go to ARN on AY at less than la-la-land prices?

Train connections between CPH and GOT are excellent, AFAIK.

That is actually excellent. Not super cheap, but even available as o/w (oj).
I was only looking to the south and found CPH-HEL-MAD-(HEL)-ARN which is a nice trip but takes more time than I have currently.
This time oneway.
Thanks, GOT is an option - sadly GOT Landvetter is not on rail, so there is another 30 minute busride. I used to live and work down town Göteborg and from there it is an easy ride to HEL, but not as attractive if adding the trainride to get there.
