In that case, you should also look at the other bookings to see how those credit.

I'm not sure why you went for OWS on both AY and BA instead of attempting OWE on either airline.

Yup, I should but this was specifically interesting as the booking is Premium Economy (which is really nice for BA tier points, but don't know how they rack up for AY) on BA and shows Eco T on Finnair, and I Wasn't able to decipher the exact tier point amounts, hence askihn for advise

The reason behind the double OWS is a whole different thing, but suffice to say , OWE was not in the cards :)

Quick question. I am booked on BA for Premium Economy from LHR to Toronto. When inputting my Finnair FF number, it shows the ticket class as Economy T. How many points am I getting from this flight ( the calculator is not working for some reason). I am Finnair Gold and BA Silver- which would net me more points?
Thanks in advance.

https://www.finnair.com/fi/gb/finnai...-points/flying It shows PE in chart with 100% of miles which should be 11436 AY points for roundtrip.
With BA, you will get 180TP and 10659 Avios including Silver bonus.
I do not know when your flight is but BA will put new CW suites to Toronto route in autumn, if available you can use Avios to upgrade.

Thansk,
This is exactly what I was wondering. As 180/ 600 is quite a bit terms of tier points to OWS vs 11K/80K for Finnair. Seems that for maintaining OWE for BA, it's almost 1/3 of required points where as for Finnair the same flight is only roughly 1/8 of required points.

Referring to the previous post, can my math be correct? That the same flight can award almost 1/3 required points for OWS on BA but only 1/8 of points for Finnair.

Yes.

Yes, the math is correct. All ffp have their sweet spots and achilles' heals. PE is one of the weaker points with AY. This will surely change once AY introduces PE on its fleet.

That sucks :)

I thought I understood Finnair’s fare classes, but maybe I don’t.

I had some flights that I thought were Value fares that should earn 100% but they have credited at 50%. I went back and checked, and it looks like I booked a “standard” class ticket. Is “standard” not value? The fare bases for the flights are QLN7T7M5 and NKX8F7M5.

I am assuming that a ticket with fare basis ZVA2FI is a Value fare. Thanks in advance for the clarifications.

"Standard" ticket type is not Value. It is a different fare structure for the North American joint venture. ZVA2FI is a Value fare indeed.

Got it. So I guess for NA flights, it goes by fare code (N, Q, etc.). Will have to pay better attention in the future. Thank you for the quick reply.

Yep, with both the Trans-Atlantic and the Japanese cartel, Finnair is not allowed (?) / willing (?) to use their regular ticket types and makes it rather difficult to book a 100% earning ticket, even if you'd be willing to fork out a little extra money, like in the case of light/basic/value fare families.

Now it's possible to combine Y and C class with one ticket.

The wiki should be updated to reflect the ongoing reincarnation of P, T, E and W or whichever they were. I could do it myself, except that, as a non-pro customer, I have not gotten the proper documentation ;)

It seems that N is new R, i.e. the cheapest booking class. Booked LH flights for January and upgrade naturally went to waitlist, but showing booking class U :o

Edit: Fake news :( At least Z, O and Q are still cheaper than N
