Upcoming flight with Z class still being sold. I guess that means not many tickets have been bought, and if still selling Z class the day of flight, plane likely to be pretty empty?

I’d also expect a good amount of empty seats, just ”not many tickets” and ”pretty empty” are relative. The flight can be still half full. Not sure how empty you expect the flight.

I hate Finnair not allowing me to choose the booking class (well this time loving it). I booked a domestic flight and the price was way less than 150 €. It happened to be Y class giving me 20 TP in the BAEC. Sometimes it’s 5 and 10 TP for the same price but now I was lucky.

Well AY flights yield quite good TP compared to other airlines but still very bad compared with how it is now. I started BAEC as a Flying Blue refugee but now even AY+ seems to be better with few visa tier Avios and possibility to concept Avios to tier Avios. BA it won’t be but maybe AY+ or back to Flying Blue With SAS flying from Turku or will it Lufthansa, who knows.

LIS-HEL-BKK cheapest business fare “light” would book into which fare class? (It earns some Avios, so I would expect it to be a fare class that earns Tier Points in BAEC, but who knows?)

For instance tomorrow LIS-HEL-BKK Business light, classic and flex all book into D. Same flights in June (random day) light, classic and flex all book into R. You can see it on the right when it asks for your name/info. |
Z is economy, so JCDIR. The lowest buckets are R and I.

Thanks both

Hi, to double check. If I have FLEX ticket that includes mix of AY and AY codeshare flights, it is still 100% refundable right? There is nothing like hidden note of something like only AY-operated flight are covered, am I correct?

Hi! I accidentally booked ticket with different frequent flyer number than I wanted. I managed to change it later in manage booking page. However, newly-generated e-receipt still shows and probably will forever show the wrong FFN. That is bit odd as seats got updated in eReceipt while FFN seems to be forever fixed. This can not cause any confusion when it comes to Avios/Tier points crediting later right? I wanted to cancel and book again with all details having entered correctly, but fare just raised.

Yes Flex tickets are fully refundable. Finnair website is one of the best places to buy refundable (flex) tickets even for tickets that don't have AY flights. For example fully refundable business or first tickets on BA are very expensive whereas Finnair happily sells you a flex ticket for the same flights for just a couple hundred more than a restricted ticket.
in fact I booked last week BA flights to USA with AY code and flex, for a reasonable price. |
Hi! If I have a Flex ticket and change my flight dates multiple times—once paying the fare difference and another time paying nothing because the actual fare is lower—will I still get a full refund, including the original fare plus any paid fare differences, if I later decide to cancel? Or is it advised to rather always cancel and book a new ticket when any change is needed?
