Any insight what kind of change fees etc. would be accossiated with fare code INW9C1S4? For some reason the e-ticket receipt has no info about this. It’s all AY codes but included other OW metal also.

I class business saver.

What route?

Thanks 👍 (and sorry, didn’t realize I could have looked from EF myself)

What are the best current ways to book a specific fare class?

I want to book D Class (for the added elite mileage on AS), but the Finnair website puts me into I Class. I called Finnair and the agent said he could not do so. Is that really the case? HUCA? I would prefer to buy direct, especially as my plans may change.

I tried BookWithMatrix and it gives me a few choices such as Priceline, which is a bit opaque in terms of details and they want to charge for any changes or refunds.

I might consider calling Amex Platinum although I have not had great results with them in the past, and they also charge, although I would rather work with them than Priceline or some other OTAs.

Not sure I have the right answer but I think you cannot choose the fare letter on Finnair booking engine but you need to resort to a travel agent or comparable and it should be possible

Apparently a HUCA situation. I called Finnair up again and got a really nice agent. He said he had not had a request like mine before, but would try to make it happen and he did. At first he got a much higher cost D Class fare than I had found on ita matrix, but then looked again and found one slightly cheaper. I took it. Still way more than I Class fare, but worth it to me for extra elite miles. He (and the other person I had spoken to) mentioned that they need to explain when a customer wants to spend more as they are supposed to give you the best fare for the type of service you want (such as Flex fare).

Yes their GDS offers cheapest available bucket and the only upsell they normally offer is all in the ticket types.

It used to be that flexible fares would automatically book into upper booking code of their respective class of travel. For better and for worse, that is no longer the case.

Needs to be updated

I just bought a full flex business class ticket from Asia to Helsinki and that was booking class R.

This wiki is outdated and now any ticket type can be any fare class (within a certain cabin).

I booked a Premium Economy ticket from DFW - HEL - SIN for May 24th. The ticket shows Class T. Is that the right class for Premium Economy?

I think I see the new PE class in AA website for Finnair (applicable from May 1 2022):
