One would be remiss to stop reading Ben's reviews. I read them because his broad experience makes him a credible source on the relative quality of a premium cabin or hotel room. By contrast, many casual travelers consider Admirals Club celery sticks the pinnacle of luxury.

Well his options are fairly limited considering he can't use united miles since the incident. So it seems lifemiles are his best option given the circumstance

Yikes, for a LH F regular that report and the comments contains a few errors... (rwy 18, 744 two class plan, new F to YVR, etc)
I'm sure the F ticket was booked as a LM boomerang Much cheaper than 1000$.

I was wondering the same thing.
It's one thing for him to say that it's a lot of miles (and it is a hell of a lot more than it used to be!). But it's quite another to not say that he didn't use UA miles because he's not allowed to!?!?!?!

There were some issues (reported on Flyertalk?) several years ago. Since I can't recall with 100% accuracy, I won't. Don't want to get 'the man' upset.
