Hi BlackHappy,
Do you know if the mini cabin is quiet after boarding? Are economy passengers allowed to pass through the mini cabin to use the business class lavatories? Thanks in advance!

RL cabins are for RL pax only, so there shouldn’t be any EY/PE pax passing through for the lavatories. The mini cabin is often more empty than the front one, but there’s a chance you might get babies in 8K/A bassinets.

Thanks for your help BlackHappy! I agree that EY/PE shouldn't pass through the cabin but have had the unfortunate experience of flying airlines (United, looking at you) where they don't do anything about it until a line formed.

Premium Economy Bulkhead Seat

We will be traveling on Eva Air Premium Economy in June. Does anyone know how I can get the bulkhead seat in PE?

I much prefer the forward cabin to the mini cabin, for two reasons - i think you get more attention in the front cabin and in the front you have two choices for bathrooms (front or mid galley) whereas in the mini cabin you really only have the galley otherwise you have to walk all the way to the front.

Call in and ask them to make a note on your reservation. Priority will be given to bassinet families first, followed by IML members/*G if they ask, and then the regulars.

Flying BR869 in a couple of weeks, on a Monday. It's supposed to be an A321 but stats indicate it's upped to a 773 every Monday. TPE-HKG. Do they hand out amenity kits on TPE-HKG? I'd assume not?

Cheers

Thanks! Any idea on what the champagne would be? Or do they really cut costs on the route.

Flying solo JFK-TPE-KIX on 4/27 with three bicycles. Ive already called in a couple of times to make note on reservation about the bikes and sounds like it wont be an issue but ill get to airport early of course.

How full should I expect the flight to be about a week after Easter? Right now the last few rows in Y look empty so I picked 70B in hopes ill get the full row but im checking every day. Is the current map on EVA (with so many empty seats scattered around) an accurate depiction of the current load?

Depends on what's important to you. If it were me and it's a long-haul flight, I'd take the aisle in a heartbeat. You can get up and walk about or use the lav without disturbing your neighbor, and aisle in middle section is a little more likely to have an empty seat next to you than a window seat. With window seat, the only advantages are that you're less likely to be disturbed by your neighbor and that you get to see out the window at the start and end of the flight.

So a little update on our EVA experience. Started with a cancelled AC flight YYC-YVR 3 hrs before the flight. In a panic, while on hold with AC, I found a YEG-YVR online leaving in 2 hrs and booked it.. We live half way between YYC and YEG so we headed to YEG at a high rate of speed for the conditions. On hold for a total of 55 min and was told EVA would have to deal with it, thanks AC. Talked to EVA before takeoff and was told they would work it out. Checked in at YVR, reissued new tickets as since we didn't use the 1st leg the rest were no good. We got our PE seats to TPE in 22 H/K. 3 hr delay for runway snow removal and de-icing and we were away. was very impressed with the EVA PE package, Moved up to Premium Laurel for the TPE-DPS in 7 H/K Hello Kitty leg, Great service and food. While in Bali for 6 weeks I sent numerous emails to AC and EVA about the cancelled flight trying to get some kind of compensation for the extra flight I had to buy in a hurry but to no avail, EVA replied but insisted (very politely) that AC is responsible, I never heard from AC. We left DPS-TPE in 8H/K, again A+. When we arrived at the TPE gate we got red flagged when we scanned our boarding passes for our PE seats back to YVR. Went to the desk where they had two new boarding passes for us, Royal Laural Seats 1 D/G for our flight home. Just want to say , well done EVA you really stepped up. AAA+++

The J upgrade back to YVR is very nice! Did they say this was related to the earlier issue or just an opup?
