There are two private rooms off the dining room - I with my family was in one for 6 hours on Saturday.

Mind if I ask if there are any requirements for access?

What are your thoughts on the private room? Is it first come first serve or do you reserve it when arriving at the lounge? Thanks!

Quick question about F/J lounge access. Connecting in AUH from EY F to Royal Jordanian J. The RJ flight has no F.

As I understand it, if the outbound leg was on EY, we'd have access to EY F lounge. I haven't seen anything about connecting to a different carrier. Anyone have any experience or knowledge on this?

If outbound was on F and connecting is on J they would accept you in EY F lounge but in your case connecting with RJ i dont think you will get lounge access at all.

First come first serve. When I arrived at the lounge elevator I told the attendant there I wanted a "private room w a couch" if avail. She brought me upstairs & handed me off to another colleague who gave me a private room.

I was however a little disappointed in the whole lounge. It's more a restaurant then a lounge. They are already cutting costs. I heard they had Paradis. To tell the truth I could care a less but if they have it, I'll drink it. The waiter told me that was discontinued & in fact when they run out of the 2 XOs they have, they will only offer VSOP (huh ). Service was excellent but they try to hard & don't have the soft products like LH, AF & EK have. (The cigar room is excellent). I prefer LHs by a bit but that's just me. The fact Etihad offers the cigars complimentary is a nice touch but I'm sure it won't last)

This was sadly correct. No EY outbound, no EY lounge access.

If I have Alitalia Frecia Alata Plus status and I'm traveling on Air Berlin, can I access the F lounge?

Trying to get an answer on this from EY is proving exceptionally difficult.

Four days ago it took 15 minutes for an agent to confirm that, yes, I would have access. However, I ran out of Skype credit before I could confirm that the agent had put notes in my PNR.

I phoned back today and was first told no, it's only for First class passengers. When I pointed out the access details on the website the gentleman said I would have access. But it was clear he really didn't know. So I asked if I would have access if flying EK or SA or LA (which of course I don't) and he said I would because I have Frecia Alata Plus status. Naturally, that wouldn't be true either so off he went to get more information. The third answer was I would not have access if flying on AB with AZ Platinum.

I don't think anyone knows.

We invite the following guests to enjoy the facilities:

Guests of The Residence
First Class guests
Etihad Guest Platinum member with one guest
Eithad Airways Partner airlines platinum members with one guest
Virgin Australia Velocity Platinum members with one guest

--> Alitalia is an EY partner airline so you should get access..

If I was traveling on EY than I would agree 100%. But I'm traveling on AB so it's not so clear.
