What is this "Bus" you speak of? Is it some new fangled form of transport? :D But seriously I'd only use the park and ride for a short trip but we are heading off for a month and I"m loathed to leave it unattended for that length of time.

Good evening all,

we have a chauffeur booked for our Emirates flight and our distance from home to T3 Heathrow is 66.8 miles using the main motorways which is the most direct way to go. We have done it many times ourselves. I have received the Addison Lee booking and they are staying there is an excess charge of nearly £30.

We have flown with Emirates last year and despite the same route didn’t have to pay anything either way. Has the allowance changed? We are flying on Friday so don’t want to make a big fuss. I have emailed Addison Lee but haven’t heard back.

Any ideas? They won’t confirm the booking until we pay the £30

the driven distance is still 70 miles from LHR T3

I have further info. AL don’t use the whole post code i.e HA5 5JP. They just use HA5 5. They call them post code sectors… however it means it covers potentially a 15 mile radius. It’s fine for the people who were expecting to pay as they live right at the top boundary but not the people like me.

Waiting to hear back from AD. Will speak to Trailfinders who I booked the trip with too and they can sort out. AL say they cannot confirm booking until I pay.

Hello, 1st time on the forum/thread/wiki and first time in Emirates 1st...
Anyway flying MXP-JFK later this week (Saturday the 24th) and have the CD pickup location for the CD set to Milano Centrale station as that's where we will be arriving.
But I don't have a clue where to meet up with the driver. I assumed they would text or email closer to departure date but so far have not seen anything. Searched the Emirates FT forum but couldn't find what I was looking for. Also scoured the Emirates website but no luck there either.. although I have been known to totally missing info right in front of me.
Thanks in advance.

I will have this same situation next month. Anyone know what is the closest hotel to Milano Centrale that I should set as my CD pickup location?

The Excelsior Hotel Gallia is right next to the station and a safe pick up place.

Do you get the Chauffeur service if booked on United stock (EWR-DXB connecting to Emirates to BLR) -- as of now looks to be a Z fare on United.

If I make a Business cabin booking for 4 people (two of which live in north London, and myself and partner who live in Kent both within 70 miles of LGW) will we be eligible to get two chauffeur driven transfers to LGW or is there only one provided per booking?

You will be allowed to book up to four chauffeurs (assuming your J ticket isn’t a special fare).

Is the chauffeur pickup allowed to pick me up from a train station? I'll arrive on a train from somewhere in Lombardy to Milan Centrale, then departing ex MXP in paid F. Is there like a waiting area the driver can wait for me?

You have to give an address/location. I am not sure about the train station itself but the Excelsior Hotel Gallia is right to it and you can definitely use that address for the pickup.

The hotel mentioned sounds best in this situation, but just for general info for anyone else interested, I've specified an airport as the pickup location in the past (obviously a different airport from the one to which I was being transported!), and I doubt a railway station is any different, as long as there is an obvious parking area to meet you.

I have just returned home from LGW using one of the three chauffeur-driven cars provided by Emirates for my party of four people. I have to say that the service was top-class in terms of organisation and operation. Each of the cars was an Audi A6 - they were spotless inside and out. It's great to know that such service exists to make a great start and end to the holiday. :tu:

I fly regularly to;/ from LGW and the CD service has been great without fail.

In one instance I had to change my CD destination whilst in the air. Sent an email and it was all sorted. Driver took me to NE Kent instead of West Sussex without any complaint.

For what it’s worth, I have noticed I now reliably get Addison Lee First service (A8) to / from Heathrow whilst Stansted is always the Executive service (A6), therefore I assume that the contract now has different terms for the different London airports.
